Fabulous Food...Quiet Setting...Beautiful Season's Restaurant in Flat Rock, NC

Highland Lake's Season's Restaurant in Flat Rock, NC, is a great place to go for a memorable outing and maybe the best food available in a comfortable setting.

Living in the area means that we are able to take advantage of little trips there throughout the year, whether we have company or not.

Season's is a Flat Rock Village Draw

Local foods, local arts and crafts, and local people always make for a good time in the village. The restaurant is a family friendly environment as well as a good place to go for a grown-up celebration.

Special occasions can't be celebrated any better than by going to this peaceful location with its scenic setting. The drive through Flat Rock just to get to Season's is a treat most anytime of year.

It doesn't take long to realize that the charming grounds at Highland Lake Inn can't be topped for their serenity. Offering peaceful walks and bike rides with photography opportunities during a quiet get-a-way, this is one of our go-to spots.

A Season's Reunion in Flat Rock, NC

Meeting up with girlfriends from “back when the kids were little” gave me a chance to introduce them to one of my favorite North Carolina restaurants. Once we started all our catching up it was no longer such a quiet spot, but our various meals at Season's were certainly not neglected.

Season’s has been a favorite since I was introduced to this mountain retreat right after I moved “north” from home, Central Florida. To the great delight of my Florida friends a light, misty rain brought out the classic blue haze that these Smokey Mountains are famous for as we drove the curves to our destination.

This time of year bright yellow banks of forsythia pop out like beacons in the hazy Blue RIdge byways and the fresh promise-of-spring green tips are coming out on trees. Some early blooms were budding along our drive to Flat Rock and the Highland Lake Inn's gravel driveway had that soft kind of crunch that it makes only when it’s wet.

Flat Rock, NC, Offers More Than Season's at Highland Lake Inn

Located near Hendersonville, NC, at Flat Rock this is a charming favorite restaurant of locals and visitors. Lilly Pad Lane off Highland Lake Road, takes you on a short trip to great food and attentive service that has been a winner each and every time I have taken guests to eat there.

This past week’s lunch menu included two kinds of burgers made with local all natural beef from Everett Farms, a quiche trio plate, and my choice of a curry chicken salad made with spinach greens. The restaurant is known for using its seasonal homegrown herbs and vegetables when they are available.

Chefs Peter Fassbender and Todd Mallin provide an amazing menu for the Inn's guests' breakfast, and lunch and dinner visitors. Their spectacular Portobello Wellington was part of our day’s menu.

We did not reserve rooms at the Highland Lakes Inn to spend time enjoying their grounds, but we did enjoy our Season's meal. We also took the time to swing by Flat Rock’s Wrinkled Egg gift shop where we oohed and aahed over delightful their spring stock, which included live birds and in-house bunny. Then we bought bakery treats to go from the Flat Rock Village Bakery so we could have at-home treats for remembering our day.

Convenient to Western North Carolina sites, the Upstate of South Carolina, Northern Georgia, and Eastern Tennessee, the Flat Rock area offers much more than Season's at Highland Lakes Inn. This little village has its own character and sites to learn about and enjoy, and it is a doorway to many other special places.

You can take a preview trip via this website to whet your appetite, then make plans for a visit you won’t regret. There's no occasion that you could not celebrate by way of a vacation in this interesting and charming area.

I love that part of the country. Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Simply Beautiful. If I'm in that area again I will have to check out Flat Rock.

Visiting Flat Rock is a lovely experience, and while Season's is an absolutely fabulous place to eat, there are several other places with their own unique offerings right in the little village area.

Thanks very much for stopping in and leaving a comment.

I've been through NC a few times, lived in Va for years, and visited the Blue Ridge Parkway many times but have never heard of Flat Rock. It sounds neat, though, and that part of the country is beautiful.

Someday...maybe...I'll get back out there.
