Singapore Shangri-la Sentosa Resort Review
Shangri-la Sentosa Resort
The Sentosa Island is a popular resort island located in Singapore. It is connected to the mainland of Singapore by public transportation, highway as well as a boardwalk. Universal Studio is located on the island and you can reach there from the Shangri-la Sentosa Resort by island express or bus within 15 minutes.
Compared with the hotels clustered around the Sentosa Resort World, Shangri-la Sentosa Resort located a bit away from Universal Studio but you will get a travel pass from the Shangri-la Resort for unlimited travelling on the island, as well as getting in and out of the island. There is also a shuttle bus connecting the resort directly to Vivocity, the largest shopping mall in Singapore where you can shop and eat indoor with air-conditioning, very handy for the tropical weather.
You can reach main attractions like China Town and Gardens by the Bay etc within 15 minutes from the resort by car. As a matter of fact, Singapore is a small country so literally everything is at reach within an hour.
View from our balcony
The hotel has 2 sides of rooms, one side facing the ocean while another one facing the tropical garden. We were travelling with the whole family occupying 2 connection rooms on the garden side and one sea view room.
We also got in-room check in service and that is an absolute plus point for us. The seniors and juniors in our group could already sat down and relax while the staff member was busy in our room for checking in.
Rooms are spacious with complete amenities. First round mini-bar is complimentary with daily refilled bottled water.
Rooms are cleaned twice a day while daily light refreshment/ snacks are provided in-room.
Resort Garden Area
The resort is a kid's paradise, a very organized one without shouting parents and screaming kids. Separated kid's playrooms for different age group are available on the same floor as the swimming pool and the water-fun-park.
The water slide is a big hit for our daughter. The only downside was that the pools and water park only operates without thunder-warning, while the warning was quite frequently on during our visit.
Access to beach is easy and the surrounding is beautifully arranged.
Main swimming pool
We stayed at the hotel only for breakfast and we enjoyed it a lot. Wide variety of food from Western continental, Chinese dim sum to Singaporean laksa noodles.
The restaurants, just like all the other parts of the hotel, are extremely child-friendly. From children's utensils to a kid's buffet corner, our kid was kept really excited all the way.
Shangri-la Sentosa Resort
Value for money
The Resort might be on the pricier side compared with other family-friendly resorts on the Sentosa Island, but to us it was a complete package. Very polite and helpful stuff, all travelling in and out of the resort is being taken care of, good food. The whole experience was very positive for of us. Highly recommend the Shangri-la Sentosa Resort for family holiday on the Singaporean Sentosa Island.
