Mahabaleshwar is located in the state of Maharashtra and is a popular destination for holiday goers and also an important pilgrimage site for the Hindus because of the Mahabaleshwar temple. 6. Coorg: Summer Tourist Centre

While Munnar is known for its tea plantations, Coorg located in the state of karnataka is famous for its coffee estates. Gulmarg is a hill station in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is an area of high security and the time taken to reach the destination can be delayed due to security checks. The population is very low and there are attractive ropeway ferries available here. It has the highest and longest cable cars known as the Gulmarg Gondola.
