Many people have heard tell of Luchenbach, Texas from the Willie Nelson song, however very few know how the little town became so famous. It all started when John Russell Crouch bought the small town in the early 1970's and changed his business card to say "Imagineer... Authorized Distributor... Luchenbach. He spread rumors of Luchenbach Seceding from the union, to draw attention to his small piece of the world. Although the town's population is 3 there is still plenty to do, the old post office is now a bar where area country musicians play regularly.

Longhorn Caverns

The caverns are thousands of years old and have a rich history.  Fossils show that Ice Age era animals once occupied the cave, before the Comanche Indians took shelter there.  As well, it has been used by Confederates as a place to manufacture gunpowder, by outlaws hiding from the law in the Old West and as a 'speak easy' during prohibition.
