But I want to peel completely about Jeju Island. Why do I write about this island? One of the main reasons is Jeju island as the new of seven wonders and Jeju island has more attractive places, what you didn’t know about. We can easily found many tourist attractions here. The original name of Jeju Island is Jejudo. Jejudo itself is transliterated Korean for Jeju Province. Jeju Island is also known as “the island of Gods”. Jeju Island situated in the Korea Strait, southwest of Jeollanam-do Province and became a separate province in 1946. Jeju-do is a volcanic island located 130 kilometres off the southern coast of South Korea. Jeju Island as the country’s largest island, home to its tallest mountain (Halla-san/mount Halla is a dramatic-looking dormant volcano) and smallest province. It provides beautiful scenery during all four seasons and brings people close to nature. This mountain is a home to endemic plants and also the houses as many as 1,800 species of flora. With the natural condition is perfect for enjoying various activities. Halla Mountain retained its natural beauty, the solemnity and its mystery can be felt through its scenery, including unusual rock formations standing along valleys, the cliffs and slopes. It surrounded by all outstanding sites, such as: Orimok Valley, Paengnoktam, snowscapes, Songpanak, Wangkwannung and Yonsilkiam with Ohbaknahan. If we talk about Paengnoktam, it’s the name of the lake that has formed inside the crater at the peak. It also challenges the visitors to walk around the large volcanic lake (about 2,000 meters in circumference and 100 meters in depth) with five different trails of varying lengths will gave them new experience.
Manjanggul is known one of the longest lava tubes in the world. This cave is situated 30 kilometers east of Jeju City (Donggimnyeong-ri). This cave is stretching nearly 13km and created some 200,000 – 300,000 years ago. The visitors are treated to natural works of art by the gods inside the darkness, though only 1km of the total length is open to visitors. As the first impression while we entering the mouth of the lava tube. So, we don’t need crawling around to enter this cave. This cave has temperature 11oC to 21oC with humidity between 85% and 100%. Better to wear jacket and comfortable shoes, because of a little chilly in the damp darkness and the terrain is a bit uneven. I heard that walking the lava tube can take anywhere between 40 and 90 minutes.
