The Best Pizza in Topeka Kansas
Like almost any American town, there are pizza places scattered all over, but there are a few that are my favorites.
While sometimes in a pinch, a chain pizza outfit might have something edible, or even good, usually there are mom and pop, single store operations that put out consistently good pizza.
I will try to highlight a few of those.
Find Your Way to Pizza
Buzzard’s Pizza opened in North Topeka in 2009 in the Hunters Ridge area, They offer a long list of toppings all on hand-tossed crusts. I know I said no chains, but this place has multiple locations, but they are all owned by the same family. They have other locations in Holton, Lyndon and Pomona. They offer both the normal toppings, plus the not so normal buffalo meat, barbecue beef and shrimp. They also offer salads, sandwiches wings and beer.
I have been eating Buzzards Pizza for years before I lived in Topeka, so I was really happy when they opened one that wasn't a half hour drive away from home.
Glory Day's Pizza
Glory Days features pizza's on 3 different types of crust. The pizzas no matter what crust feature quality meats and cheese.
Glory Days has been in Topeka since 1985, and has been serving good pizza ever since. They are not really any style but their own. Many people in Topeka pick them every year as the best pizza in Topeka
La Rocca's Pizza
LaRocca's has been in business on and off in Topeka and Lake Perry, and when they last lost their location, people were literally looking to find them a new place so they could eat their food again.
Well, Vince and Irene are back in business with a new location on Urish Road, and if the buzz is any indication, they won't have to be looking for a new home anytime soon, unless it is for a bigger space.
They serve great pizza, calzones and sandwiches. and the garlic rolls are to die for!
AJ's NY Pizza-Topeka and Manhattan
The Pizza Parlour
The Pizza Parlour is located in North Topeka and they have been there since 1965. They are known for serving some great pizza and ribs. One particular pizza that is mentioned by fans is the Big Bobby, a sixteen inch, 6 pound creation,
They also serve ribs and hamburgers, and on Saturday nights they have a steak special.
Fed and Faded Challenge at Via's
Via's offers great pizza on two different types of crust, wheat and white, and they also offer a regular hand tossed crust as well as the Chicago style crust.
Their pizza's range from cheese to gourmet topping selections, and all their pizza's are cooked on stone. No conveyer belt oven here. They also have several local beers on tap as well as beer in the bottle.
