The Best Places to Watch the Sunset in Naples, Florida

Sunsets are gorgeous multicolor rays of light in twilight hours when the day changes into night. There may be many places around the world that have beautiful sunsets. Though, it's been stated that one of the most beautiful sunsets take place in Florida. More specifically, Southwest Florida with the combination of the beach view and the twilight hours and the light casting down across the Gulf of Mexico's water.

There are five places, the best places, in Naples, Florida I have found to have an exquisite sunset to watch. This compiled list highlights those best places to watch a sunset.

5.) Gumbo Limbo/ Ritz Carlton

The first place on my list at number five is the Gumbo Limbo restaurant located off the beach at the Ritz Carlton in Naples. Gumbo Limbo is restaurant on a boardwalk behind the Ritz. Sunsets play off the beach in a dewy glow. You can enjoy some appetizer sized food and a cocktail at Gumbo Limbo while watching the sun slink down the sky.

4.) Vanderbilt Beach

The next place on my list is Vanderbilt Beach in Naples at number four. You will not be disappointed here and it's one of the free places as spending money is not a necessity. It is also one of the best places for a "quick watch" if you don't have too long of a time to linger around. Sunsets consisting of hues of orange, pink, and blue.

3.) Sunset Cruise on the Naples Princess boat

Number three on my list of places isn't a standstill place at all. It's a day cruise at twilight on a boat in Naples called the Naples Princess Cruise boat. The Naples Princess offers a sunset cruise out to the gulf to watch the sunset. Here, you can listen to music, dance, and have dinner if you like while enjoying a gorgeous Naples sunset slowly slide across the sky. It is one of the pricier places but you will find it will definitely be worth it.

2.) The Naples Pier

The Naples Pier comes in at number two on my best places' list. Here you can achieve two explorations at the same time: an eyeful of lovely hues of a sunset and the historic visit of the Naples Pier. This is the other free place where spending money is not a necessity. Lingering around here is common but of course you can take as long as you'd like.

*Updated Note - November 15, 2015: The Naples Pier is now back open.

1.) The Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Resort

The last and final place on my list at number one is the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Resort. Not only do tourists and visitors who stay at the hotel love it but it is also a favorite among the locals to go to, and it's right off the beach. You can always linger here as you'd like, even after the twilight hours. Besides as the best place to watch the most beautiful, perfect sunsets, there's a bar and tables. Anyone is welcome to pull up a chair and have a cocktail or food or both while watching the sunset. Certain days after twilight hours, a jazz band strikes up some music, and you can enjoy some tunes and dance if you like. The sunsets here are really like no other sunset you have ever experienced before in your life. In this area, it is true paradise.

When you come and visit Naples, Florida, and plan to watch the sunset, you can never go wrong with any of these places. Grab your favorite person or group of friends or family and enjoy a sunset at any of those best places listed. You will certainly have a great sunset experience!

I lived there and hit most of these places. Sunset was an important occasion everyday...I remember the clapping.
