The Children's Museum in Temecula California

One of the most magical places you will ever take your children to is Pennypickles Workshop in the Temecula Children’s Museum. Filled with rooms of imagination and wonder, right in the heart of Old Town Temecula, is the humble abode of Professor Pennypickles. Formerly known as the Imagination Workshop, the Temecula Children’s Museum is a hands-on discovery zone for kids.

Who is Professor Pennypickles?

For those of you who are wondering, Professor Phineas T. Pennypickle, Ph.D is a reclusive, absent-minded, creative genius.  It is rumored that even as a small child Professor Pennypickle had a case of insatiable curiosity.  His friend Dorothy Parker once surmised, “The cure for boredom is curiosity.  There is no cure for curiosity.” So since there was no cure for what Professor Pennypickle had, he started to use that curiosity to invent things.

I am told he “envisioned ways to improve and revolutionize everything from electricity to communication to transportation.”  As you can imagine, Professor Pennypickle became quite a busy fellow.  As he made discoveries through trial and error, the house that he lived in started to fill up with more and more stuff.  In fact, the place resembled more of a workshop than a home, and so it became Pennypickles Workshop

Professor Pennypickles is an inventor and scientist.

One of Professor Pennypickles most legendary experiments focused on the art of time travel.  Right in the middle of his library is his very own time machine.  Professor Penny pickles uses it to visit other interesting places, times, and famous inventors.  He has “picked all of their brains”, so to speak, to come up with his very own splendiferous inventions.  Pennypickles Workshop has become home to his famous “Illusionator”, the “Philharmonicamatic”, and the “Electolight-o-later”, oh yes, and the “Recycler-er” in which he uses an old boot and a bag of cement to crush the cans flat. Pennypickle has even transformed his toilet into a hydroelectric generator.

Professor Pennypickles has a secret passageway in his Library!

Pennypickle is very hard to find, he has a secret passageway in his library to a mysterious Maze Room.  Perhaps on one of your visits you might attempt to find him by using the maze.  But even though he is quite elusive, he shares his workshop and his inventions with children today to spark that imagination inside each one of them.

Yes, Professor Phineas T. Pennypickle is quite an inspiration for us all.

A great deal of support for Professor Pennypickles Workshop is given by those who generously donate their means to further their efforts. Become a friend of the Temecula Children's Museum by contributing to them.

For now they are looking for help with an upcoming project called "Pennypickle's Traveling Science Show". This project will transform a used bus into a traveling exhibit that will expose children who are not able to personally visit the workshop to the wacky world of science.

Wouldn't it be great if "Monster Garage" would transform the bus for them... Jesse James are you out there? You could use some good press about now, couldn't you?
