There Was No Sign
Do you consider yourself a person with common sense or are you the type that needs a sign up everywhere you go to stop you from doing stupid things as you go through life ?
Many people after doing some thing stupid will say " There was no sign "
Wouldn't common sense kick in at times in your life where there could be a dangerous situation ?
Even if your actions made it more dangerous for the next person that came along you would need to think about your actions .
I am writing this after having a conversations in the pool at Kimberleyland in kununurra last week.
beware of crocodiles
Sitting in the pool cooling down one afternoon I got chatting to a couple of ladies who were up visiting their husbands for a few days .
As we have a resident crocodile here named Rodney I asked them if they had seen the crocodiles here .
They said that they had seen them and fed them as they looked hungry and were looking for food .
I was horrified and asked what they had feed these crocodiles .
Their answer was sausage rolls .
When I told them we are not supposed to feed the crocodiles they said
" There was no sign telling us not to "
THERE WAS NO SIGN !
Fortunately they have left the area & we haven't seen crocodiles sniffing around for more sausage rolls yet.
Really do we need hundreds of signs to state the obvious wherever we go ????
Please beware of dangerous situations where there is no time to put up a sign as mentioned below.
Danger
I can see you people in the cities wondering what this has to do with you as you won't have people feeding crocodiles there . I sure hope not anyway !
However what about the lady who sued a major company as she burnt her leg putting her coffee between here legs while driving ?
THERE WAS NO SIGN to say the coffee was hot .
Unless we buy an iced coffee we expect our coffee to be hot so why do we need a sign to state the obvious .
It is sad that because many people don't use common sense companies have to put signs on products stating the obvious then the price has to go up accordingly.

Important Signs
Signs are needed in many cases such as "roadworks ahead " " road closed" "Stop" "Give way"
etc however there cannot be signs in every place you visit on your travels so at times you do need to use your common sense .
Maybe there is a sign needed and the local council haven't had a chance to put it up yet .
In the kimberleys we are coming up to the Wet season where roads can be closed very fast by rain so you could come across them before they have a chance to put a sign up.
Many of these will be too dangerous for you to cross so please be patient.
Please don't risk your life due to the lack of a sign .
