The first immediate travel advice one seeks when the idea to travel to a foreign country comes to mind is the level of peacefulness of that foreign country. Every country in the world would wish to be peaceful as a country’s wealth seems to follow how peaceful a country is. Unfortunately for a country to be peaceful it seems the country need to have sufficient wealth for its citizens. The whole idea of peace and wealth of a country needs a lot of balancing.

The world’smost peaceful country is New Zealand. But wait. Any of the small,stable and wealth countries like Denmark,Norway, Iceland, Austria,Sweden, Finland or Japan are the major competitors ofthe title of the world’s mostpeaceful country. The Global peace index is a ranking of countries based on how peaceful they are and was created by ‘Institute for Economics and Peace’ having been endorsed by Steve Killelea, Dr. Kofi Annan, the Dalai Lama, archbishop Desmond Tutu, former President Martti Ahtisaari, Muhammad Yunus, economist Jeffrey Sachs, former president Mary Robinson and former president Jimmy Carter. To arrive at the ranking, the following factors are considered among other things:

3. How the country relates with neighboring countries

4. The degree of organized internal conflicts

5. Distrust among the country’s citizens

6. Percentage of internally and externally displaced persons

7. County’s political instability

9. Probability of terrorist attack in the country

10. Number of killings of one human being by another human being

11. Violet crimes and violent demonstrations

12. Number of people in jails

13. Number of police and security officers per person

14. Ratio of military spending to GDP

15. Import and Export of weapons

16. Deployments of armed personnel by world bodies such as UN

17. Easiness of obtaining small and light weapons
