Vacation Destinations for the Fun Loving Adult

Decadent Playgrounds for the Adult Traveler

If you’re up for a little adult entertainment on your next vacation, these cities might have exactly what you’re looking for; adult shows, nightclubs, and anything goes atmosphere, these cities are the ideal for partying late into the night amidst beautiful people who love the sensual side of the city’s nightlife. In addition to decadent entertainment, these cities have plenty to see and do during the day as well; if you’re not taking a much deserved siesta, that is.

Rio de Janeiro

Rio is the second largest city in Brazil and attracts countless visitors each year. Well known for its annual Carnival celebration and hot Latin dances such as the Samba and the Bossa Nova, Rio has long been a hot-bed of decadence and passion. Here the temperatures along the coast are warm with cool breezes blowing in off the Atlantic. Visit Rio during Carnival and shake your hips to the seductive Samba music that was invented by poor Afro-Brazilians. The atmosphere is sensual, euphoric and electric with dancing, singing and parties that last all night. You’ll surely marvel at the feathery, glittery costumes of the drag performers. Street bands perform in literally every neighborhood and streets close down to accommodate the world’s largest, four-day party. The charming neighborhoods and pristine waters of Ipanema Beach makes this area the most appealing to visit during your stay. You might want to stay at the Fasano Hotel. Located near the trendy Post 9 beach, the Fasano has several restaurants from which to choose that suit a variety of tastes and styles and is the epitome of modern elegance.

Las Vegas

When a city’s nickname is Sin City, there really isn’t anything more that needs to be said. You simply have to experience it for yourself! Las Vegas isn’t just a mecca for gamblers anymore. It has been transformed into a decadent, lustful playground for both the rich and famous as well as the everyday working man. There is something for everyone here. Begin your playful visit by checking into one of the many themed hotels. Caesar's Palace is one of the greats. The rooms here are comfortable and spacious and atmosphere throughout is elegant and romantic. Escape the desert heat by taking a dip in one of the hotel’s six pools that comprise The Garden of the Gods Oasis. There is plenty of room for sunbathing on one of many chaise lounges and for swimming in an Oasis fit for the gods. The Venus pool features a mobile cart selling Margaritas and mojitos. Cozy up in one of the private cabanas and sink into deep relaxation. Each cabana has a stocked refrigerator, flat screen tvs with DVD players, wi-fi, ceiling fans and plush, comfy furnishings. Cabanas are popular, so you’ll have to reserve yours in advance. This pool charges admission between $10 to $20. After swimming with the gods, you may want to head over to the Venetian for a gondola ride. This Venice themed hotel features a romantic waterway upon which you’ll float in a cushy gondola, steered by gondoliers in authentic attire. As they guide you through the quaint channel they will serenade you with beautiful Italian music. Choose from either the 14 minute indoor ride or the 12 minute outdoor ride in the hotel’s private, spectacular lagoon. Afterward, visit one of the many upscale Grand Canal shops or stop in to the Godiva Chocolatier and grab a hand-dipped fruit kebab.

There is no shortage of restaurants and nightclubs to choose from. My favorite Vegas restaurant to date is definitely Michael Mina’s. It’s pricy but well worth the money if you love fine dining. Located in the elegant Bellagio Hotel, Michael Mina’s offers diners an opportunity relax in a sleek, modern and quiet atmosphere. The wait staff are consummate professionals who know the menu well and offer excellent suggestions. Executive Chef, Marc St. Jaques, has created a unique menu with innovative twists on your favorite meats and seafoods. There is also an extensive wine list and your wait staff will suggest some excellent pairings.

After dinner you may take in one of Vegas’s endless array of shows. My favorites are the Cirque du Soleil shows. Cirque offers up the most provocative, sensual, innovative acrobatics I’ve ever seen. Check out either Zumanity at New York New York or “O” at the Bellagio.

Vegas is the city that never sleeps, so after your show, head over to one of the nightclubs, where you can indulge in decadent cocktails and dance until dawn. Some of the hottest clubs in Vegas include Pure located inside Ceasars Palace. VIP tables are available here for up to 8 people. VIP table fees include admission, bottles of Skyy or Stoli and mixers. Tax is paid separately at the time of admission. This club is definitely hot, awash in white, pink and blue hues and featuring an incredible veranda that boasts spectacular views at night. For a decidedly more risqué vibe, check out Tao in the Venetian. This club features endless dancing, hot party-goers and awesome cocktails. The same might be said for Lavo at the Palazzo. Don’t miss this rich, lush hotspot. You’ll feel as if you’ve been transported to another world. Whatever you decide to do on your journey, Vegas is sure not to disappoint.

Miami

The weather is not all that’s hot in Miami. This southern Florida city comes alive under its rich Cuban influence.

Dance the night away at one of Miami’s many Latin flavored clubs. One of my favorites is the South Beach hot spot Mango’s Tropical Café. This thumping club features parties, special events and live music regularly. Bump against the hottest men and women in Miami under the hot lights and pulsing Latin beats. The sexy vibe of this club is undeniable. While Mango’s definitely caters to a younger crowd, if you’re into no-holds barred fun and care to immerse yourself in an electric and passionate atmosphere, give this club a try. To sample the party atmosphere, check out their website at www.mangostropicalcafe.com.

If salsa dancing is more your style, trek over to Bongo’s Cuban Café. This club, owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan provides a colorful, fun place to dance the salsa and enjoy one of their many exotic libations. Partiers are dressed to impress and get lost in the sexy beats and colorful art deco design of the club. This club is open until 5 a.m. on Saturdays! During the day, don’t forget to sample their exquisite Cuban cuisine. One simply cannot visit Miami without eating Cuban food!

Miami is not all about the nightlife. There is plenty of fun to be had during the day as well. Just spread your towel out on one of South Beach’s sandy expanses and watch the beautiful people go by. Take a dip in the pristine waters and soak up the sun in your barely-there bikini. South Beach is alive with restaurants, clubs and shopping. There is so much to do that you could easily spend a week and still not have visited each hot spot. If you’re single, South Beach is Miami’s place to find a casual hook up or maybe even find your soul mate. Whatever you’re looking for, Miami’s South Beach is sure to please.

New Orleans

Even the force of Hurricane Katrina could not break the spirit of this proud, sexy, vibrant city. New Orleans remains steeped in history, mystery and magic. Even black magic. This city is alive with the ghosts of Cajun and Creole spirits, jazz legends and voodoo queens. You can spend your days touring the nearby alligator swamps, unique above-ground cemeteries, or shopping in the many historic districts of this amazing city. Start each day with freshly baked beignets and coffee. In the evening, simply step onto Bourbon Street or stroll through the French Quarter and you’ll be immersed in a setting that is unlike any other. The architecture, the art the music and daily revelry is unparalleled. If you like your sex and your vacation a little on the saucy, dangerous side, New Orleans is a must-see destination for you. This isn’t simply the “Girls Gone Wild” city you’ve seen on late night television. It’s so much more. You can duck into any number of bars or clubs along Bourbon Street and there is no cover charge! The clubs featuring live music will charge more for drinks, but it’s worth it to lose yourself in the provocative beats and party atmosphere. Mardi Gras is one of the biggest parties on the planet, so don’t miss out on this celebration if you’re planning a trip here. Whether you choose to earn your beads the old-fashioned way or simply duck into one of countless shops that cater to tourists along this famous stretch, you’re sure to have a great time. Mardi Gras is a mini-Carnival right here in the U.S. Drag performers in heavy make-up and sequins are not an uncommon site during Mardi Gras.

If you’re drawn to the darker side of life in the Big Easy check out one of the many Vampire Tours that are conducted after dark by gothic tour guides who tell hair-raising tales of the city’s dark past.

Check out live jazz while dining on Cajun fare at the historic Preservation Hall or hit the Bombay Club restaurant and martini bar for a more upscale dining experience. This restaurant features award winning Creole creations and live jazz nightly.

Berlin

Berlin has long been known as one of Europe's most progressive and racy cities. The nightlife literally pounds and pulses and the Germans have a reputation for their ability and desire to party into the wee hours. If you're feeling especially daring, the Kit Kat Club is a must see. Patrons are not allowed to dress in street clothes, but if you've happened to pack fetish, latex, leather or other costumed attire, you're a shoe-in. Leave your inhibitions behind and dance the night away to electro, house, techno or trance music. This club is housed inside of the Sage Nightclub which you can find by taking the Heinrich-Heine Strasse U-Bahn. The Sage Nightclub, which houses Kit Kat, is a concrete club built right into the side of the Heinrich-Heine-Strasse U-Bahn. The club features two separate dance floors, and Eastern inspired lounge and a large wooden deck and pool! The playlists are varied and the vibe is strong, so come ready to dance and revel until the early morning hours!

There are few things sexier than a Latin beat and Berlin's Havana Club takes it to the top! Patrons will get lost in the sexy live salsa and merengue beats as the dance the night away on one of three dance floors. Dress to impress and shake those hips like there's no tomorrow. You'll fit right in! Not much of a salsa dancer? Come and hour early and take dance lessons. Just hop on the Rathaus Schoneberg or Eisenracher Strasse U-Bahn.

Looking for something a little quieter but still able to appeal to your saucier side? Check out Berlin's Beate Uhse Erotik-Museum, which displays nearly 5,000 international sexual artifacts and exhibits. This provocative gallery is sure to titillate the senses and arouse your passions.

If you'd care to start off your evening with a fine dining experience, make plans to visit one of the Hotel Adlon's incredible dining establishments. Two of them, Restaurant Lorenz Adlon and Restaurant Gabriele have received 5-star Michelin rankings. Quarre, also located in the Hotel Adlon, is a spacious restaurant with both indoor and patio seating boasts some of Germany's most delectable dishes. The service in all three venues is impeccable and atmosphere is unparalleled. Reservations are highly recommended. The Hotel Adlon is located along the ultra chic Unter den Linden. Take the U-Bahn to Unter den Linden.

New York

No list of the sexiest adult vacation destinations would be complete with New York City. With jazz clubs such as the famed, Blue Note, it's no wonder. Check out this live jazz venue featuring some of the biggest jazz names in the industry such as Dave Brubeck and David Sanborn. Dine off the delicious menu featuring such items as black angus filet mignon with creamy potato puree, wild onions and beef au jus; grilled baby back ribs with BBQ sauce and roasted corn on the cob or tempura style fish sandwich with tarragon mustard caper dressing. The Blue Note has venues in Milan, Toyko and Nagoya, but no city in the world compares to New York, and jazz is an American institution!

Take in dinner at the romantic Italian restaurant, Felidia, which not only serves lunch and dinner, but features a special pre-theater sitting as well, for those about to take in one of the city's amazing shows. Felidia features exquisite pasta dishes with delectable sauces and an extensive wine list. Olive oil lovers will appreciate the olive oil tasting for only $7.00.

If expansive, breathtaking views are more your style, check out 230 Fifth, a fine rooftop dining establishment that has been voted New York's best rooftop bar. The Penthouse Lounge is open 35 days per year from 4:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. and can seat up to 600 guests who will lose themselves in the magnificent panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline. The restaurants menu features such small plate delicacies as Crispy Shrimp with Pineapple Curry Dipping Sauce; Steamed Pork and Shrimp Wontons; Malaysian Fish Cakes; and Chicken Strips with Mild Chili Sauce; Larger plate options include the succulent Sea Bass in Aromatic Coconut Broth and Lightly Curried Chicken with Coconut Rice from Kuala Lumpur. Prices are very reasonable, from $7.00 for a small plate to $18-28 for a large plate.

Of course no trip to New York is complete without a visit to Broadway. The world-renowned musical theater has featured all of the hottest theater tickets in the world; everything from Cats; to Rent; to Wicked; to Phantom of the Opera and Mamma Mia. You name it, it's been here. Get your tickets early and plan to enjoy!

At the end of the day, sink into your luxurious, modern accommodations at the Hotel Giraffe. This hotel is spacious, elegantly appointed and ultra chic. It features a variety of floor plans from deluxe one and two bedroom spaces to ultra-modern suite accommodations. This boutique hotel also features a piano bar from 5-8 on Saturdays, a bountiful European style breakfast buffet, wine and cheese receptions on Mondays and access to wifi.

Paris

Paris has long been regarded as one of the world's most romantic cities. Tourists and locals alike stroll the city streets taking in the breathtaking views of the countless monuments and stunning architecture. The cathedrals and museums will keep you busy for weeks but it's the city's nightlife and darker, more sensual side that will pique some traveler's interests. One of the most notorious venues for Paris nightlife is the red-light district. Many of the attractions are located on the Boulevard de Clichy where the Red Mill is also located. The Red Mill is one of Paris' most recognizable sights. One cannot experience this red-light district without a visit to the world famous Moulin Rouge, birthplace of the Can-Can dance. Dancers decked out in rich, colorful costumes entertain and delight guests from around the globe at this cabaret club.

Like many other larger, progressive cities, Paris also has an erotic museum. The Musee de l'Erotisme is located in the same general area as the Moulin Rouge, in the Pigalle neighborhood off Rue de Clichy. This isn't your run of the mill, cheesy sex museum though. The Musee de l'Erotisme's founders have compiled a vast collection of erotic art and artifacts which have been loving displayed in a renovated cabaret. The exhibits, some of which are temporary art and pornography exhibits, are featured throughout seven stories of galleries. The galleries feature exhibits from around the world and tell the story of how sex and human sexuality evolved across generations on several continents. This unique gallery is open until 2:00 a.m. offering couples ample opportunity to take it all in before the sun comes up.

Start your evening with a relaxed dinner in a venue that boasts stunning views of Paris from its most recognizable landmark, the Eiffel Tower. The Jules Verne is a well-known restaurant that requires that one have reservations weeks in advance. Travel by private elevator to the south pillar of the tower and settle into the comfortable, contemporary surroundings. You'll want to dress up for this dining experience. Lunch portions go for about $65 and dinner on this gastronomical seasonal menu is in the neighborhood of $200.

At the end of your evening, stroll hand-in-hand along the Trocadero and bathe yourselves in the romantic ambience of the illuminated Eiffel Tower. You'll have plenty to talk about after the shows and exhibits you've just seen.

Bangkok

Bangkok is touted as one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Asia. You need only visit once to fall in love with the eclectic blend of temples, markets, shopping venues, palaces and theaters. Whether you decide to relax on a dinner cruise down the Chao Phraya River or indulge in the intoxicating effects of a Thai massage, you've come to the perfect place to get away from it all.

The cruises down the Chao Phraya River offer travelers the opportunity to indulge in delectable six course Thai meals featuring handmade sushis and sashimis, while being entertained by authentic "kim" music and dancers. There are even options for overnight cruises and private party rentals.

Don't miss out on one of the many shows at the Siam Niramit. These shows combine Thai dinner buffets with incredible stage productions on the world's highest stage. The costumes and special effects are nothing short of dazzling. Pet an elephant and get your picture taken with cast members at this unique theatrical experience.

If you enjoy live theater but are looking for something a little less mainstream, you may love the Thai ladyboy extravaganzas! The world's most gorgeous and provocative transvestites put on quite a show in Bangkok, where gender-bending has long been an accepted and even celebrated phenomenon. The heavy make-up, glitzy costumes and extravagant shows are sure to leave you breathless.

Wrap up your evening back in your exquisite room at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. This hotel, situated on lush tropical grounds, boasts outstanding river and skyline views, spaciously modern rooms and outstanding decor throughout. This hotel is so posh and modern that you may never want to leave, but because Bangkok is one of the sexiest cities on the planet, you'll definitely have to make the effort! You won't regret it.

Quite a mixture on an excellent Hub! The only one of these cities I have been to is Berlin. I wasn't at the particular location you mention but can verify the atmosphere of the city in this respect. There is huge reconstruction work going on in Berlin these past few years which does make it less attractive in many ways but it is still worth a visit.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! :)

Thanks so much for your feedback. I was just in Berlin last fall. Loved it more than I expected to. As you can tell, travel is one of my favorite past times. If I could afford it, I'd be globetrotting much more than I do. The variety of cultures, languages, arts and night lives hold an infinite appeal for me. Looks like you've been to some great places too. I'm always scouring the net for the next best destination. Regards!
