WHERE HAS CUSTOMER SERVICE GONE?

I FOUND IT!

IT HAS GONE TO AIR NEW ZEALAND, OR SHALL I SAY, IT IS ONE OF THE LAST REMAINING BUSINESSES THAT EXERCISE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AS USUAL PROCEDURE. QUITE SURPRISING AND VERY RARE THESE DAYS.

MY FLIGHT HERE WAS DELAYED BUT IT WAS IMMEDIATELY POSTED ON THE WEBSITE AND ON THE PHONE RECORDING. I WENT EARLY EVEN THOUGH I WAS WELL IMFORMED AS JEANNE'S FLIGHT TO INDIANA WAS ON TIME AND WE WERE SHARING OUR LAST REMAINING MINUTES TOGETHER IN A SHUTTLE.

WHILE IN LINE, A NOTICE WAS CONTINUALLY CIRCULATED TO THE CROWD TO KEEP THEM INFORMED AS THERE WAS NO OTHER PLACE TO POST INFO ABOUT THIS FLIGHT AT THE BORROWED TERMINAL. AMAZING!

WHEN I GOT UP TO THE CHECK IN, THEY WEIGHED THE FIRST OF MY 2 BUSTING-AT-THE-SEEMS LUGGAGE. BOTH WERE, AS NO SURPRISE TO ME, OVERWEIGHT. QUITE PLEASANTLY THEY INFORMED ME AND I EXPECTED A WHOOPING CHARGE BUT INSTEAD THEY INFORMED ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE WEIGHT FROM EACH BAG! WHERE WAS I GOING TO PUT IT? I COULD NOT TAKE IT BACK HOME, THAT NO LONGER EXISTED. I HAD NO OTHER LUGGAGE TO BUT IT INTO AND 2 WAS THE LIMIT ANYWAY. BLOOD DRAINED FROM MY FACE, PANIC WAS WRITTEN ALL OVER ME, NO HIDING OF MY EMOTIONS. THEY HAD A FAVORABLE SOLUTION WITHIN MINUTES. THEY HELPED ME (YES, ACTUALLY HELPED ME!) TAKE THINGS OUT OF EACH BAG AND TRANSFER THEM INTO A DOUBLE HEAVY LARGE PLASTIC BAG THAT WOULD ALSO BE CHECKED AND THE 2-BAG LUGGAGE LIMIT WOULD BE WAIVED AT NO CHARGE! I THANKED THEM OVER AND OVER AND THEY JUST SAID "NO, WORRIES" AND ASSURED ME IT WOULD BE AT THE OTHER END FOR ME AND IN TACT.

FLIGHT ATTENDANTS WERE ALL EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND POLITE BUT STILL WERE ABLE TO GET THEIR JOBS DONE IN RECORD TIME AND MAKE ALL OF US PASSENGERS COMFORTABLE. 2 (NOT 1) GOURMET HEALTHY BALANCED MEALS WERE SERVED DURING THE 8 HOUR AND 40 MINUTE FLIGHT. ALL BEVERAGES WERE INCLUDED IN THAT AND SO WERE ALL THE MOVIE HEADSETS. THOSE OF YOU WHO TRAVEL KNOW THAT ALL OF THIS IS TOO HARD TO BELIEVE TO BE TRUE BUT I SWEAR TO IT! BAGGAGE CLAIM HAD NUMEROUS FREE CARTS WAITING FOR US ALL TO COLLECT OUR LUGGAGE AND ALL OF MY 3 CHECKED ITEMS ARRIVED WITHOUT A MARK ( EXCEPT FOR ALL THE OTHER ONES FROM PREVIOUS FLIGHTS) AND NOTHING INSIDE WAS BROKEN OR EVEN SHAKEN UP. DOUG GREETED ME WITH OPEN ARMS RIGHT OUTSIDE AND THEY WERE QUICKLY FILLED WITH ME FIRST THEN ALL OF MY BAGGAGE. IT ALL WENT LIKE CLOCKWORK SO THIS TYPE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RESPECT FOR FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS CAN BE COMBINED WITH BEING "ON-TIME! AMAZING.....
