Where to Get Great Burgers in the Sacramento Area
Sacramento Is Burger Town USA
Sacramento, the Capital of California, is known for many things. It is known for a temperate climate, lots of trees and parks, and for great food. And for the locals one of Sacramento’s greatest treasures is the availability of great places to get great burgers found all over town. And in Sacramento, the burgers are as diverse as its people.
If you like an old fashioned burger then Willie’s is the place for you. Located on Broadway, in Downtown Sacramento, Willie’s has become an institution in Sacramento. The menu is fairly basic but Willie's does offer the Hammer, which is their basic burger which can be ordered with one patty or up to four. Willie’s also offers great chili to accompany the burger as well as Hot Dogs and breakfast items. And now, Willie’s has expanded and includes a location off of Arden Way.

The Squeeze Inn
As featured on Diners, Drive Inn and Dives, Sacramento’s Squeeze Inn has been serving great burgers for over thirty years. The Squeeze Inn is famous for its cheeseburger, which is cheese served with a side of burger. The famous squeeze with cheese is unique because after the burger patty is cooked it is covered with a handful of cheese. Then a handful of ice chips are thrown on the grill to basically steam the cheese. What develops is the cheese skirt that covers the entire burger. The Squeeze Inn also has regular burgers, hot dogs and tacos. But it is the burger that keeps people coming back as the Squeeze Inn was voted best burger in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and best dive for the past five years.

Fanny Ann’s Saloon
Located in historic Old Sacramento just two blocks from the California Railroad Museum, Fanny Ann’s Saloon has been one of Sacramento’s best hotspots for over thirty years. But the local secret is that during the day Fanny Ann’s serves us some great burgers. During the week, Fanny Ann’s runs “Burger Madness” which is a great lunch deal for burger and fries at an affordable price. And the burgers are made right in front of you in an indoor grill.
