Gorgeous DALMATIA & ZADAR - my home - Gallery

Updated on April 24, 2010

From last year, I live in Zadar, 3000 years old town on the coast of Adriatic Sea (gorgeous part of Mediterranean Sea in Europe), in the part of Croatia which is called Dalmatia, from ancient Roman times.

Dalmatia is certainly most beautiful part of my country - misterious sparkling sea with thousands of island put like pearls into it, shining sun, romantic coast full of stones and rocks, which sea, winds and sirens passionately use to play the most enchanting songs of the nature.

Wild rocky mountains jealously protect Dalmatia from the rest of the country, - here is the world of palm trees, agaves and pine trees which grow on the red soil (terra rosa). Here is the world of many shining intensive colours (due to the strong sun and many sunny days) which make you feel alive and content. Here is the world of gentle fragrances from the sea, aromatic herbs which grow in the rocks, world where winds are free to play their games, tenderly whispering in the palm - leaves , or wildly crushing seawaves on the mighty rocks.

Mother Nature gave to Dalmatia her beauty in pure abundance.

From early childhood I dreamed to live here, whenever I look at this glowing blue-green sea and proud rocks and mountains, I can feel just pure happiness.

Zadar was very destroyed during the Second World War and at least half part of it was build after that. But still new parts and old ones create the harmony under the hot Mediterranien sun.

All these pics I took in previous months, and I really hope you will like them.

Island Pag

Island Pag is very strange island - majority of it are just naked white rocks, due to the strong wind from mountain Velebit, which blows the salt from the sea on island. Despite that, is very popular place for tourist.

Town NIN

Nin is very small, romantic and historically very important Croatian town: it was seat of first Croatian Dukes - Princes (rulers of Dalmatia) - 7 Croatian rulers in the middle age were crowned in NIN. It was also place where bishops of Nin were making extreme effort through the many centuries to preserve Croatian language and protect if from latinisation (replacing with Latin language).

Now is beautiful place where old buildings and churches keep the memories on the part of challenging Croatian history.

It is situated 17 km NW of Zadar.

This island is during the summer completely crowded with tourists, and so peaceful during the rest of the year.

This red gorgeous clif with the beach is the most interesting part of it which I have seen, I was astonished when I discovered this perfect view.
