My local Union once received a large number of circus tickets to the Barnum & Baily circus, that comes to Grand Rapids, MI every year. So, I took my older brother along, and it was a pretty cool show. They did the 9 man pyramid tight-rope act, and all you could hear was babies crying, even though they wanted everyone to be quiet. They also had some great acrobats.
The coolest thing were these people that were dressed in skin tight outfits, and they did various slow motion acts to music. One man was walking on a giant ball, and he was holding another man, who was standing on his head in the palm of one hand. The man who was standing on his heads had his arms outstrected, and the man who was holding him, had his palm flat. That takes some serious upper body strength! Then, as soon as they were in position, the man who was holding the other dude began to turn the ball with his feet.
But, they were not finished. The man then placed the dude he was holding on the top of his head, and he did a head stand on top of his head, and the ball began rolling around the arena, all while other acrobats are jumping over the top of tem, and swinging from wires.
Another good one was the guys standing on yet another large ball, 3 guys stacked on each others shoulders, with the one on top holding up a chair. A girl is then ejected off a sea saw, does a double flip in the air, and lands in the chair. They almost fell, but managed to stay up. Quite exciting!
The only thing we paid for was $5.00 for drinks, and $3.50 to park the car.
