If you enjoy the sun, sea and sand, be sure to come and enjoy one of the many Cape Town beaches and soak up all the sun you need. Whether you want to take a dip or just tan on the shore, Cape Town is the place to be !

Bloubergstrand and West Coast Beaches

These beaches have the most amazing scenery and is very popular for photographers due to the fact that Table Mountain is clearly visable, the an awsome bay effect. It is great for surfers and kite surfers as well as long walks along the beach, picnics and sundowners. It also makes a great whale watching point during season.

Helderberg Beaches

Situated at the foot of the beautiful Hottentots mountains.

Including Bikini Beach, Strand and Gordan's Bay, the heldeberg beaches are great for relaxation. Strand has shallow waters as well as a long sandy beach. Gordan's Bay has various rockpools for exploring. There are restaurants, cafe's and ice-cream shops available alongside the road. Bikini Beach is a sandy sheltered beach and is popular for tanning and relaxing.

Atlantic Seaboard Beaches

These white, sandy beaches have amazing views which include the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The water is quite cold which makes it a great spot to visit on a hot day. These beaches are filled with locals, as many of them spend there time here.

Clifton Beach

Clifton has four sections which are named, 1st beach, 2nd beach, 3rd beach and 4th beach. These four beaches all have stair enterances which leads down from the above road. There is limited parking so it is a good idea for you to go early. The busiest section during summer is 4th beach. It has good facilities and changing rooms. There are available kiosks on the beach that sell goodies, such as ice-cream, cooldrinks and much more. There are also available umbrellas and deck chairs for hire (daily).

Camps Bay Beach

This long beach is entered from the road. Camps Bay has a beautiful backdrop of Table Mountain and a palm covered pavillion. Parking is limited during summer, so it is adviced you get there early if you plan to go. There is a road behind the beach that has various restaurants, cafes and some small grocery stores, so getting some snack won't be a problem. There are available umbrellas and deck chairs for hire (daily). Camps Bay is a family beach, so there is more space for fun and games for the family.

Llandudno beach

This is one of the most stunning beaches in all of Cape Town. The sunrises and sunsets are extraodinary. This beach is entered by a winding pathway. There aren't any shops near this beach but there are vendors on the beach that sell ice-creams, cooldrinks and snacks. The bathroom facilities are not that good. There are available umbrellas and deck chairs for hire (daily).

Sandy Bay Beach

Situated behind Table Mountain with beautiful backdrops, this beach is well known to be the best nude beach in Cape Town.

False Bay Beaches

This laid-back, quiet coastline is very busy during the summer and is great for holiday visitors and tourists. The waters here are more shallow and warm and go out quite far, which makes it fun and safe for swimming. There are lifeguards at all the big beaches and will ask you to swim in certain areas for your safety.

Muizenberg Beach

This very long, sandy beach has a large amount of space in order for you and your family to have major fun. There are cafe's, waterslides and a putt-putt course available. There are various tidal pools and small beaches between Muizenberg and Fish Hoek, which is good for safe swimming and exploring.

Fish Hoek Beach

This beautiful beach can be found towards Cape Point. It is a filled with locals and is an awsome family beach. This long, sandy beach has rockpools along the way. There is a great beachfront restaurant and play area for kids.

Boulders Beach

Just past Simons Town, you will find Boulders Beach. It is a small beach with a few small coves with large boulders surrounding them. The tides do change fast, so just keep an eye out for it. There is an enterance fee and you will find a restaurant and small shop along the parking area. It forms part of a conservation area which is home to African Penguins. There are walkways available in order for you to view the penguins.

Hout Bay Beach

This beach is a favourite for locals and visitors. It's harbor is traditional and has a number of restaurants. It is a great place for surfers, windsurfers and paddelskiers.

Noordhoek & Kommetjie Beaches

This long, white sandy beach is found just past Chapman's Peak. This beach is a favourite for surfing, kite flying, horseback riding and long walks. If you go a little further, you will find Kommetjie beach, which is great for surfers and is spacious which makes it a great spot for families.

The Clifton beaches, Camps Bay and Llandudno were always favorites for me - for sundowners especially. But if you actually wanted to get in the water without freezing to death then Fish Hoek would be my best bet. Nice to be reminded!
