Houston, Texas reporting in at $2.49 a gallon...as of 08/05/10. Who knows what the future holds...I hear tell on the news that now it is suppose to go back up dure to the lack of production in the Gulf.
First the leak...now the results from the leak...We can't win!
The price is increasing daily with today's price at 103.7 cents per litre and it's still going up. I have noticed that the price increases on Thursday evenings and continues to rise until Tuesday evening, where it drops drastically. Wednesdays are the best days to buy petrol -- lowest price during the week. Then the mark up begins again.
Boy, and I thought we had it bad. $7.10 US is more than double what we're paying. I'm in No Cal and it's hovering in the $3 range for unleaded. I didn't look cuz my car's 3/4 full right now, but I strongly suspect they jacked up the prices for Labor Day weekend. Why? Because they CAN!
Yesterday I paid $3.13 for 91 grade (super) at Costco. That's the best I've seen. And yes, California supposedly has the highest rates in the states. But you Brits got us beat, for sure! Yikes!!! Whatever happened to BRITISH Petroleum????
Just the opposite here, at least where I am in Chicago. We pay a higher rate in the city because of an added city tax as if the state and fed tax weren't enough. I paid $3.11/gallon yesterday and I'm not going to complain after seeing how much others are paying around the globe.
I'm lucky enough to live in a city that has great public transportation. $80/month would buy me an unlimited use CTA pass which I could use for bus and rail but only in the city. Unfortunately many of my clients live in the suburbs which have terrible public transportation so I need to drive. My 2007 Chevy Colorado is a 6 cylinder and gets around 20 miles per gallon on the highway.
...ack!!....i have a radiator system to heat my home...need oil for it....i just paid over $1.00 a litre....ouch! I've never been charged that before and it's not very cold yet either....and the oil comes from Canada too!....not happy about that at all......
I know gas prices are pretty here in the states at the minute, saying that if broke it down , england would cost about 8-9 dollars a gallon and ireland about $7 maybe $6 more even . So $4 aint bad when you count...
This may not be news to a whole lot of people, but, I am getting sick of this. Why isn't the Government doing anything about it, especially when they know that it is killing our economy? Not, to mention that we are...
