Favorite Quote: "....to strive, to seek, to find and not to yield." Ulysses by Tennyson.
Favorite Word to Describe My Interests : Eclectic -. (It's much better than "scatter-brained" as my friends and family might say.)
I've worn several hats in my life. (You have to if you're frizzy-haired). I've been a teacher of the deaf, a sign language interpreter, an essay writing tutor, a gardener, a writer of short stories and essays, and the president of my own software company (Windmill Works Educational Software and Games www.windmillworks.com). I'm a bit of an inventor, and probably most interestingly, the mother of an actress/singer/comedienne who has toured with the Broadway Production of Mamma Mia, hence the hat you see sitting on top of my head.
So I've been around awhile which makes me have a few words to say that might be useful. (Ah, useful - another great word one might like ascribed to himself or herself.)
My husband and I recently purchased a tiny 940 sq. ft condo in Laguna Hills which is actually double the size of the RV we were living in in Newport Beach, CA. We are Wisconsin and Minnesota natives respecitively and when my daughter moved here we started to wonder why we were there! So my husband found a software engineering job with a company here in "sunny crazy town" as my daughter calls the LA area. We LOVE Newport Beach, Balboa Island, Corona del Mar, Dana Point, and the whole Orange County area and are proud that people like us found a way to put ourselves in the midst of it.
We have a precious, fiercely independent little dog named "Scooter" who is a total joy and who even hadhis own dog blog on our website at www.windmillworks.com.
My favorite type of writing is creative non-fiction and I have an audiobook published at www.podiobooks.com ("Live, From Milwaukee, It's Tuesday Night."). I'm not a children's book writer, but I wrote and published the ebook, "Lucky, the Left-Pawed Puppy" just to empower little left-handers like me!
I think the concept of hubpages.com is a fantastic concept - downtown - off the hook. It also seems like Hub Pages is flexible enough for all kinds of writing as well, and I appreciate the opportunity this site offers for all of us.
Cheers to you....Billie
