I am a librarian at a community college, a proud crazy cat lady, and a former caregiver to a mother with Alzheimer's. I have raised money for the Alzheimer's Association for twenty years, walking in a local Walk to End Alzheimer's. I enjoy gardening, especially irises, and I start my own heirloom tomatoes from seed. I enjoy walking at the park with a best friend and hanging out often with him and other friends. I plan to retire in a few years to have even more time for all the things I am passionate about. Life is good and I am blessed!

I packed up my little Honda CRX with all my belongings and left behind my graduate studies at Florida State to be my mother's full-time caregiver. Then I met her Alzheimer's.

My mother's Alzheimer's came during a complicated time in my life, but as I had failed at other things in my life, it seemed I needed so desperately to do just one thing right--be her caregiver.
