Christopher M. Liebergen is currently a Doctorate student of Public Health: Epidemiology working on his dissertation on Native American Obesity, along with his previous education as a health and exercise science specialist starting with an A.A.S in Exercise Science, a B.A. in Kinesiology and a M.S. in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with a focus on Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention. He has also obtained top nationally accredited health and fitness certifications such as NASM-PES (National Academy of Sports Medicine-Performance Enhancement Specialist), ACE-CPT (American Council on Exercise-Certified Personal Trainer), NASE (National Association of Speed & Explosion), Silver Sneakers Certified and New Leaf Metabolic Certified.
Christopher’s 15 years of practice of health and exercise sciences has brought him so many great rewards, working with so many diverse health populations such as weight-loss/obesity, core/stability, balance/functional training, Type I & II Diabetes, bodybuilding/toning, powerlifting, sport specific/strength & conditioning for high school along with Division I and Division II collegiate athletes, cardiac and musculoskeletal post rehabilitation, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic disease, special needs, youth and senior exercise and nutritional programming, along with administering many fitness analysis for exercise prescription development and reaching health and fitness goals.
Working with many different cultural/ethnic groups has been Christopher’s great passion during his education and working in the industry of health and exercise. He has given lectures and developed exercise and nutritional programs for community groups for the Hmong Type II diabetes prevention, African American, Indian, Latino, and Somalian. Additionally, Christopher has been affiliated with the Native American community ever since he was very young and is a former Men’s Feather Fancy Dancer, dancing at many nationwide powwows and events across the United States, and he has worked with the Native American community at health fairs and lectures throughout his health and exercise career and is finishing his doctoral dissertation on Native American obesity. Bridging cultures together is a passion of Christopher’s health science education and taking a part in the community.
As Christopher M. Liebergen has enjoyed the great rewards of prescribing health, wellness and exercise programs for hundreds of clients over his 15 years of practice, he has many strong interests as well. As we all love food, Christopher has his indulgences too and is quite the foodie, but he loves cooking very healthy cuisine from everyday American home cooking to many different cultural/ethnic cuisines such as Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, Latino, Italian, well let’s just say, quite a bit of everything. He loves to travel to his favorite foodie hot spots and especially find the new cultural cuisines. Sushi is Christopher’s favorite as he travels to many local sushi restaurants and also makes sushi right at home.
