The purpose of this hub is to share healthy cooking tips and recipes that are oh so tasty and delicious. I'm a southern, Cajun, creole girl who loves good cooking and good eating. The problem however with many southern, Cajun, and creole dishes is that they contain high amounts of fat and/or sodium. My physique and gastrointestnal system has suffered as a result of a diet high in fat and sodium, but limited on veggies and fiber. I had a desire to maintain a healthier diet so that I could feel better and look better.
This desire to maintain a healthier diet led me down a road of discovery. I began to learn new ways to prepare the dishes I love, while incorporating more vegetables. I also started a simple workout routine to go with my healthier diet. My body is starting to thank me :)
As a Army Veteran, I know what it is to train, eat well, and have a body out this world. But as the term Veteran implies, I was once this person. Upon leaving active duty, I left the life style as well. I now have a desire to reclaim a piece of that lifestyle. I know my 41 year old, post baby body, will never be what my 26 year old body was, but I can certainly get close to it. I intend to try anyway.
