61Manuel Goldring finds a different place to sit when he's not in his game chair. This one is on the highway. Bike riding is another hobby from his childhood that he still enjoys. When he was about 8, he would ride a cheap bike from a box store around the suburbs. He rides a top-of-the-line Cannondale bike now. But he has changed more than just his bike. Now, when Manuel Goldring hits the road, he tries to get me to go on longer trips so I can enjoy the outdoors. Even when he doesn't have much time, he tries to ride at least once a week.
But it's not all games. Manuel Goldring knows how important it is to put his own well-being first, but that doesn't mean it's all fun and games. He puts just as much time and energy into his work. Even though he got his undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University, he has since changed careers. He is now studying to get his IT credentials. If he wants to be happy, this field fits much better with his other interests. Manuel Goldring remembers that even as a child, he was the one people turned to when something needed to be fixed or put together. This was still true as an adult. Every PC he uses for gaming is one he built himself. As a parent, he is always looking for the best new gadgets and technological advances to help. He likes smart baby monitors and learning toys that help his baby grow and learn.
