Founder and CEO of the Chadian group Oum Alkheir Holding, Hissein Bourma Ibrahim is a young 27 year old businessman passionate about his role as an entrepreneur. In 2009, he founded his first company, Oum Alkheir Construction (now Imperial Construction), dedicated to construction, civil engineering and property development. He follows in the footsteps of his father, who was head of the country's first construction company.

But the young man had his sights set higher, deciding to expand his group by creating Iby Motors in 2014. "There was an increasing local demand for private passenger vehicles, but few operators were able to import these in sufficient quantities. By starting Iby Motors, I was simply meeting a need," believes Hissein Bourma Ibrahim. Oum Alkheir Holding's second company imports all makes of automobiles (in particular Nissan, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Mercedes and BMW) into Chad, and manages the maintenance of vehicles in modern garages, using high-tech equipment.

Hissein Bourma Ibrahim has also launched Iby Fashion, a company that distributes the world's largest ready-to-wear labels (including Balmain, Diesel, Hugo Boss, Zara) in Chad, as well as his own collection. The young man's goal is to make Iby Fashion the benchmark for ready-to-wear apparel in his country, and also to establish it in Montreal and Dubai, where he lives part of the year with his wife. "Residing in Dubai also has the aim of making contacts within the community of international investors," adds this ambitious entrepreneur.

Today, Oum Alkheir Holding has a combined turnover of nearly $30 million (2014 figure), with more than 80% of profits coming from its construction and civil engineering business. The group employs between 500-600 employees, of which 40% are expats. And Ibrahim Hissein Bourma Ibrahim doesn't intend to leave matters there. He aims to revive the Chad economy by investing in new projects in areas like agribusiness, the textiles industry, and leather. This serial entrepreneur is ready to take on any challenge!
