My name is Stanley Reese. Please call me Stan. I am the author of the new book "Relax Dad, It's Just The Kitchen".

I grew up in LaGrange, Georgia where I started a writing career as a stringer for the local paper fresh out of high school. During college, I was exposed to radio and "caught the bug". During most of the next twelve years, I spent time as a DJ, newscaster and Manager of radio stations in Georgia and Virginia. Mostly, however, I was a full time single Dad to two wonderful kids.

In 1990, I finally got the chance to work in television as a newscaster and sportcaster at a small station in my hometown. Even though I interviewed many sports legends like Jeff Gordon, Greg Maddux and Deion Sanders, my career highlight is reporting the events leading up to the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

After that, I figured nothing could compare to watching the world come together for such an event. I changed venues and spent the next five years as a Public Information Officer for a Sheriff's Office. This was an experience. I saw the things viewers never get to see on TV.

2000 brought about a move to Alabama. I first moved to Roanoke then to the Birmingham area and now I call the Huntsville area home.

I am married and have five children ages 26, 24, 6, 5 and 3 years old.

My passions, other than my wife and kids, include writing and gardening.

Updated February 2012: I have my first book ready to be published in March. The name of the book is "Relax Dad, It's Just The Kitchen". It is a book for Dads who need some help in the kitchen. Been there, done that, wrote the book about it.

Updated March 2012: "Relax Dad, It's Just The Kitchen" is complete. At 190 pages, there are more than 70 simple recipes along with some touching stories about fatherhood. There are also chapters on shopping, kitchen staples, kitchen tools and even safe food handling. The book is available on Amazon.com and also at www.RelaxDad.com.
