Hi, my name is Jillian. I live in Southern, CA. although this is not my primary home state, it is now where I reside and refer to as my home. I enjoy reading, writing, and traveling. I would like to share my writing with those who are interested in learning more about what it's like to be an Introvert and to help connect with those who are self-reserved as we gather our thoughts, ideas, and concepts and begin this journey together that goes deep down the "rabbit hole" to explore the truth.
As an introvert, life has not been easy for me. I didn't realize that I'd have to make more of an effort to connect with other people and to take time for myself to recover from social engagements. Fortunately, I took the MBTI in February of 2018 and found out that indeed I am an introvert/INTP. Knowing this about myself has oddly piqued my curiosity to learn more about introverts and how we behave, including the science behind it.
A bit about myself
I am a former Marine, Manager, Entrepreneur, and Hospice Health Volunteer. I have two bachelor degrees, one in Project Management and the other in Healthcare Administration. I grew up in the small town of Easton, CT with a strict religious family and have three wonderful brothers; I played the piano for roughly 8 years and was in the school band as a clarinet player and alto singer in the choir. I enjoy art, music, and science.
I never fully understood why I needed so much time to myself until I took the time to observe myself and my behaviors. I also prefer to learn about various interests in my spare time as I continue to gather more data to analyze. People would often question me about why I didn't like to hang out with them or spend most of my time with them; they were perplexed by my standoffish behaviors and couldn't understand why I had no interest in going out.
Over the years, I've found great solace in what I enjoy doing in my spare time. I continue to read, write, play the piano, and collect art pieces. I absolutely love to explore and observe new ideas, places, and information, but with careful consideration and thought to what I may expose myself to in the process. I suppose you can label me (I personally don't believe in labels) as an "odd" or weird person and that doesn't bother me in the least. My motto is: You are what you choose to be...and choice, not chance determines your destiny.
