Valerie Gordon (VG Gordon)

Valerie Gordon is a Chrisitan Apologetics enthusiast. Also, a wife and homeschooling mother. She and her husband are highschool sweethearts and have been married for 24 years with two children.

Valerie converted to Christianity from Atheism 17 years ago. Overwhelmed with gratitude for the redemption of Christ, she strives to share His message with others.

Recalling both the positive and negative influences Christians had on her throughout her life; the biggest stumbling block to her initial conversion was the closeness she shared with her parents who are both intelligent, loving Atheists, contrasted with the many flawed Christians who tried to evangelize her throughout the years.

Once she realized how frail everyone is, especially herself, it was easy to see the need for a savior. But that was a long journey to gain enough humility to actually follow Christ. Life's failures can be great teachers but the positive influences to her initial conversion were her: parents, brother and sister in law, best friend, 5 wonderful Christian coworkers, and her mentor; also, Dr. Laura Shlessinger, C.S. Lewis and Beth Moore.

After her baptism she received much support from good fellowship but it took a few years of trial and error to learn the difference between being a, "fan or follower of Christ". It was her conversion to Catholicism that turned her into a follower of Christ.

She and her husband currently serve as catechists for her parish. Her favorite Catholic influences are: Fulton Sheen, GK Chesterton and Sensus Fidelum.

Her personal history, plus the knowledge of Church history, which comes along with becoming Catholic, has ignited an even stronger evangelical zeal and also equipped her to be a better apologist for Christianity in general.
