They were admired for their loyalty and well appreciated for their sincerity and dedication. Pariah dogs are a breed created by natural selection and they are naturally healthy and physically, mentally fit to survive and grow with less or without supervision. The Saluki is an old dog breed of sighthound category, they are friendly, devoted and energetic dogs which have an exotic appearance. This breed is most appreciated for its elegance, stamina and speed. They are the natural athletes, which need a lot of exercise, While chasing their prey they can go around 30-35 miles per hour.
They are native from Egypt and commonly available in Turkestan and Turkey region. Salukis is the national dog of Egypt and also known as the Gazelle Hound, Arabian Hound, or Persian Greyhound.

Canaan Dogs are an ancient primitive type dog of Pariah category, originated from Israel. They have their presence in history from 2200-2000 BC onwards and they are the national dog breed of Israel.
Unfortunately, very less Canaan dogs are available, only around 2000 -3000 Canaan dogs are available across the word most of them are in Europe and America.
Canaan dogs are naturally healthy dogs which have a great survival capacity in desert and hot climate. Also, they are the great companion and guard dogs which were used by the Hebrews to herd and guard their flocks and encampments. They also do well in conformation, agility, and obedience.

The New Guinea singing dog is an ancient wild dog that has rare and unique vocalization. Very few dogs of this breed are available and this breed is standard to endangered category. This dog was originates from the island of New Guinea from where they got their name and because of their unique vocalization they are named as New Guinea Singing Dog.


They are considered in wild dog category and not recommended as a house pet. Though usually they are gentle and affectionate with known people, but can be aloof with strangers.

Basenjis are the hunting dogs of the sighthound group, originated from Congo, South Africa. This is an old breed that was created for hunting and to flush small game in a hunter's net. Basenji dog is an alert, quick and energetic, muscular and athletic dog of small-medium size that make a good house pet.
Basenji dog is also known for some of its unique and uncommon qualities like they don’t like wet weather. They like to chew and you need a lot of toys to chew. They are a great jumper and easily can get over fences. Also, they don’t bark, instead they make a low pitch ululation. And this dog likes to keep himself clean and fresh, like the cats.

Carolina Dogs are an American pariah Dog which is very similar to a small Australian Dingo and also known as American Dingos, Carolina Dingo, American Pariah. They are naturally selected dogs which were first discovered living as a wild dog or free roaming dog by Dr. I. Lehr Brisbin. Now these dogs are a well domesticated and excellent family pets and also recognized as a "Yellow Dog" in the Southern U.S.A.
The origin is yet not clear, but the latest DNS test shows, the DNA of Carolina dogs contained 10% and 35% pre-Columbian ancestry and rest from some mixed or unknown kind of ancient primitive dogs mainly from Asian primitive dogs.

Dingos are the golden or reddish-colored canids or wild dogs from Australia and also occurs in Southeast Asia. Though their origin is yet not specified. But as per recent DNA test report Pariah dogs are the genetic source for "Australian Dingos". Years back they were brought to Australia by Indian Sea feral.
Dingoes are yet not domesticated and live in wild. Usually Dingo males live alone but some can live in packs also. They are dependent on hunt and have great hunting instinct and tremendous stamina and energy. Also they do not bark like a dog, instead howls like a wolf.

The Peruvian Hairless Dog is an ancient breed from Peru. Which originates from Peruvian pre-Inca cultures. It is known as an Incan dog because this dog breed was retained during the Inca Empire and also in pre-Inca cultures from the Peruvian coastal zone. This one among many other hairless dog breeds. A most accepted concept to be these dogs hairless, is the genes that cause hairlessness and less teeth than other breeds.
Peruvian Hairless dogs are loving, friendly and loyal companion that makes a good family pet but they are reserved with strangers. They are very protective of women and children in the family. They are typically lively, alert and friendly with other dogs.

      I too observed there are couple of article which are incorrect i saw an article on mnn.com and iheart.com they had listed Alopekis, Pekingese, Samoyed and Shih Tzu Oldest breed. That's deff. not correct as Samoyed is only 3000 yrs old dog breed and there are many other dogs aprt from my list which have ~10,000 old history, Including the most famous Tibetan mastiffs.

      Good choices. I read a hub recently on ancient dog breeds and the writer chose to list the Irish Wolfhound, which is not an ancient breed at all.
