What is the difference between Hawks and Eagles?

Many people say they would not know for sure the difference between these birds, but is there any? Yes. There are differences.

  • Both belong to the Accipitridae family of birds.
  • Eagles have larger size, powerful build and are more heavier.
  • Hawks are known for their powerful and sharp beaks long tails and strong claws.
  • Hawks sore longer than eagles. Hawks are on the list of most intelligent birds.
  • Eagles only eat their prey on the perches. They catch their prey without landing and take it to the perches.
  • Eagles prey on larger animals than hawks. Eagles tend to reside on land areas and coastal areas
  • Haws only reside on woody areas.
