The Bergamasco is a giant, muscular and healthy dog of herding dog category which has a distinctive unusual felted cat. This breed was originated from Bergamo, from where it got its name Bergamasco. It’s also known as a Bergamasco Shepherd Dog, Bergamasco, Cane DA Pastore Bergamasco. This breed has been registered with AKC since 2015.

The Boerboel is a muscular, giant, intelligent and gentle mastiff type dog that has a broad, muscular and a square shape head and strong muzzle. Though this doesn’t have clear records of breed history, but it’s commonly believed that it was originated from South Africa by crossing between British Bulldog category dogs and African mastiff type of dogs and latter these dogs are crossbred with the English long-legged Bulldog with the Bull Mastiff in the late and early 1950s. The Spanish Water Dog is a medium sized herding dog breed, developed from Spain. This is an intelligent, healthy and energetic dog, which was created for sheep herding and guarding purpose which is a close relative of Portuguese water dog. In year 1980 Spanish Water Dog Club was formed and this dog was recognized in Spain and later in the year 2001-02, it got officially recognized in the United States by the United Kennel Club. Though basically this is a shepherd and guard dog, but it has a good recognition as an earth dog also. The Spanish water dog is recognized by the AKC, since January 2015.

The Rat Terrier dog is a small, adorable terrier dog that was developed from USA to hunt vermin. And also known as nicknames RT, Rat, Rattie, R-pooble, tough guy. 11. Russell Terrier

The Term Jack Russell Terrier, Parson Russel Terrier and Russel Terrier is quite confusing. Jack Russel terrier was developed in the early 18th century from England. Mr. Reverend John Russell was the creator of this breed, the initial purpose to create this dog was to hunt foxes and help hunters in small game. This is also known as JRT and Jack. Sometime people are getting confused with Jack Russell terrier and Parson Russell terrier, but both are different breed and has different characteristics and traits. Russel Terrier is relatively new breed and very similar to the the Parson, Jack Russell, and Russell terrier. But all three are considered different breeds, and this is where it can get confusing.

The Russell terrier is actually a shorter version of the Jack Russell terrier. Australia and other FCI (an international federation of kennel clubs) countries call the Russell terrier a Jack Russell terrier, which is the traditional old style JRT. In the US, the Russell terrier is the same size as the Australian Jack Russell terrier. Both the Russell and Parson Terrier are recognized by the AKC, but the Jack Russell terrier isn’t.
