50 Silly But True Animal Facts

  1. Elephants spend 23 hours a day eating.
  2. Snakes do not have eyelids.
  3. Owls cannot move their eyeballs.
  4. Cats have 32 muscles in each ear.
  5. Cows give more milk when listening to music.
  6. Ferret babies are called kits.
  7. Bears (fully grown) can run as fast as horses.
  8. Mice sperm is larger than elephant sperm.
  9. Crocodiles cannot stick their tongues out.
  10. Dolphins sleep with one eye closed.
  11. Kangaroos use their tail for balance while hopping.
  12. Camels have 3 eyelids.
  13. Lions can mate more than 50 times per day.
  14. Polar Bears are the only mammals with hair on the soles of their feet.
  15. Butterflies taste with their hind feet.
  16. Penguins can jump up to 6 feet high.
  17. Flamingos can only eat when their head is upside down.
  18. Giraffes are the tallest animal in the world.
  19. Goats have rectangular pupils.
  20. Emus cannot walk backwards.
  21. Tigers have striped skin as well as striped fur.
  22. Humming Birds are the smallest birds in the world.
  23. Woodpeckers can peck 20 times per second.
  24. Chameleon tongues are as long as their body.
  25. Hippos can stay underwater for up to 30 minutes.
  26. Zebras are white with black stripes.
  27. Rats last longer without water than camels.
  28. Goldfish have a memory span of at least 3 months.
  29. Donkeys will sink in quicksand but Mules will not.
  30. Pigs' orgasms last for 30 minutes.
  31. Sharks are the only fish that can blink with both eyes.
  32. Ostrich eyes are bigger than their brain.
  33. Bats always turn left when exiting a cave.
  34. Grasshoppers have white blood.
  35. Owls are one of the only animals that can see the color blue.
  36. Porcupines float in water.
  37. Moles can dig 300-feet long tunnels in one night.
  38. Sloths spend 80% of their lives sleeping or dozing.
  39. Turtles can breathe through their butts.
  40. Oyster babies are called spats.
  41. Chickens cannot swallow while they are upside down.
  42. Iguanas can end their own life.
  43. Squids have 10 tentacles.
  44. Scallops have 35 blue eyes.
  45. Swans are the only birds with penises.
  46. Tarantulas can live up to 2 years without any food.
  47. Salamanders breathe through their skin.
  48. Platypus' have bills like a duck and lay eggs as birds do.
  49. Koalas are one of the few mammals that have fingerprints.
  50. Whale Sharks are the largest fish in the world.

      I love the one with the aye aye and turtles breath through its butt it's so funny I even telled my mom she fainted and my grandma and grandpa and dad and sister and she does this thing called little peep and little grape so it's like a comedy show and she made one with the turtle breathing through its butt and the aye aye Your friend gogirl6

      Interesting facts!

      The goldfish one, however, is not true. The average memory span of a goldfish is around six months, I believe. You can even teach goldfish how to perform tricks, like swim through hoops, or play soccer.

      i lov alllll animals did you know that the koala sleeps for 22 hours each day and the smallest animal is a bat called a kitti's hog-nosed bat or the bumblebee weighs as much as a peanut.
