Animal Cruelty Laws need to be Harsher
What the difference between beating a person or beating your pet? The difference is, a person has a voice and can go to the police. The pet has no voice, you beat him and he has to put up with it. What has he ever done to you? Has fiddo ever purposely done something malicious to you that he planned on doing? Did fiddo have a bad day at the park and come home and start bitting you? The answer is no. Pets are there to love you be by your side. They do not care wether your white, black, purple, green,or orange. They do not care if you have lots of money or if your fat or skinny.
People all over the country are abusing there pets and getting away with it or going to court and getting a fine or minimal jail time. It sickens me to watch the shows on Animal Planet were people are Beating, Starving and even killing there pets and getting away with it and getting hardly any jail time. A while back I saw one on there that Starved three cats to death, Only to go before the judge and get a three months in jail and a fine. So I can kill my cat and get less jail time/fine then if I download an illegal movie or if i make an improper pass? It brings a tear to my eye to watch that shows and actually see what kind of punishment these guys get.
Am I the only person that thinks these laws should be harsher? I think if a person gets convicted of any animal cruelty act first time or multiple offender should get a minimum of one year in jail and if it is anything serious like killing an animal or starving it for a long time or negligence of care were it gets so bad that animal needs surgery you should get upwards of ten years in jail. People would think twice before they hurt there pet if it resulted in a minimum one year jail sentence and a 10000 dollar fine
Please discus this in the comments bellow. Here is a couple video's for you guys to awwwwww to :D
