Bigfoot and Megalodon ~ The Unexplained

Updated on August 13, 2014

Bigfoot and Megalodon

Bigfoot, is he for real or is he a combination of a hoax and folklore? I am not here to convince you one way or the other. I am merely here to cause you to stop and imagine the possibilities.

Right now on Animal Planet there’s a show that airs called Finding Bigfoot. Personally, I think these guys are over the top. They believe things that, well in my opinion just don’t make sense. They have been out in the woods looking for Bigfoot for several seasons and have come up empty handed.

Many people love the notion that Bigfoot exists, and like to believe. I remember the Patterson-Gimlin film of the late 1960’s. I was just a child then, and it was easy to believe that there was this “monster” in the woods. We were caught up in the intrigue and mystery of things.

However, is there evidence to support the fact that a Bigfoot exists? Well, there is a good bit of circumstantial evidence. Evidence that many say could be faked, and I guess that is a possibility. To date I have not found photographic evidence that Bigfoot is out there. I have seen things that make me stop and wonder, but not convince.

There are a group of people that believe that Bigfoot is a natural creature that we have somehow overlooked. It is very possible that there is something out there that we have yet to discover. Then we have a group of people that believe Bigfoot is a paranormal phenomenon. Paranormal as in he lives in another dimension, or that he is a ghost or a spirit.

The group that believes that it is a paranormal phenomenon they believe that Bigfoot is just folk lore. Some believe that he is a spirit and that is why we never find any physical evidence of this creature.

On the other hand, there are those that believe that Bigfoot is an alien, and that is why we find no physical evidence of his existence. These people cite that UFO’s have been seen in and around the area that Bigfoot is reported to live. They believe that the UFO’s are dropping these guys off and picking them up.

Before 1967, when the Patterson-Gimlin film was released, there were tales of a tall hairy man. These creatures have been spotted around the world, and are in folk lore the world over. This begs the question, was he at one time real even if he is not today? How could people the world over be seeing and describing the same creature?

Personally, I want to believe. Do I believe that this creature exists in areas that are populated by humans? No, if they do exist they are in isolated areas.

The Megalodon

What is a megalodon? This is a fifty ton shark that lived about 28 to 1.5 million years ago, but there is some speculation that it is still with us today. The megalodon is considered by scientist to have been the most powerful predator in the history of vertebrates. He is said to have been anywhere from 55 to 60 feet long and preyed on large whales.

I find it more credible that the megalodon exists than Bigfoot, because the ocean is so huge and we have not explored very much of it at all.

Some facts about the megalodon shark the world’s largest shark to ever exist:

  1. The teeth were about 7 inches long.

  2. This creature had the most powerful bite of any creature that has ever lived.

  3. The megalodon closest living relative is the Great White Shark.

  4. Scientists have no idea why the megalodon went extinct or if in fact that it did entirely.

  5. Megladon means “large” teeth.

People are reporting sightings of the megalodon in and around certain areas of the world that support whales and sharks. Could the megalodon still exist? The question remains. Is it possible the scientists are wrong and this huge monster still exists out there somewhere? It’s a proven fact that we know more about the surface of the moon than we do about the ocean, so the possibility is out there.

The Discovery Channel has done some compelling stories on the megalodon. In the end, does this monster of the deep exist? Honestly, no one really knows. Scientists are learning more and more everyday about the mysteries of the deep. The possibility is out there.

Do you Believe?

I believe that someday we may know for sure if these creatures do indeed still live, but until then it is up to us to decides for ourselves what we believe.

Personally, I am a lot like Mulder on the X-Files. I want to believe, the truth is out there.

I think Megalodon exists but I'm not 100 percent sure on the shark. However I am 100 percent sure on Big Foot. In March of 2011 I and a friend were driving down a country road called Golden Valley Church Road in upper Rutherford County N.C. There is a state park in the area and the park service was burning off the top of a near by mountain. The fire had all the wildlife in the area excited and we saw foxes, racoons, deer, and a bobcat all with in a few minutes as we drove along.

Then as we drove down the road we saw something moving down in a field to the right and at first we thought it was a bear. But as it got to the road and started up on the road it was clear to see that it was a Big Foot.

My friend stopped the truck and I jumped out to observe what we were seeing. There on the road 27 foot from me was a real live Big Foot and it was not happy that I was there on that road with it. It crossed the road quickly but I was able to see it was a male. I saw its male parts hanging down. I saw its very dirty butt crease. Their was a horrible smell like a cross between a skunk and rotten meat.

As it crossed the road it raised one arm over its head and growled at me. It was in no way a man in a costume. It was a real creature. I looked into its eyes and saw its yellow sharp teeth. I will never forget what I saw. It ran across the road in front of me and up the side of a mountain like nothing I've ever saw before. No man alive could have run up the side of a mountain the way this thing did.

I know for an absolute fact that Big Foot exists. I was there on that road with it.
