Hamsters Like Christmas Gifts

If you have an adorable pet hamster, you will no doubt want to get your hamster a gift for Christmas. Hamsters like to participate in family activities just like any other pet. Hamsters also enjoy getting new toys and snacks they've never had before. So this Christmas, do not forget your hamster. When you go Christmas shopping, make sure to pick up something nice for your hamster, too.

I am always on a search to find cool new hamster toys. I also buy my hamster new food or treats on a regular basis. I would like to give a few suggestions for awesome hamster Christmas gifts based on some items my hamster seems to really like. Also, I've had 3 hamsters, so if there is one particular toy all of my hamsters seemed to really enjoy, I am much more likely to recommend it as the perfect hamster gift.

Hamster Transport Unit

If your hamster has a Habitrail cage or CritterTrail cage, you can purchase this awesome Habitrail hamster transport unit. This easily attaches to any cage that already has sections ready for tube attachments. The nice thing about the transport unit is it just as easily detaches from the cage. If you need to take your hamster somewhere, yet you don't feel like taking the entire cage, this is perfect since it even has a handle. You hamster can travel in style.

Two of my hamsters have owned transport units and both hamsters really enjoyed playing in them. For some reason (I suppose this is due to the shape), hamsters love rolling around in the transport unit. Just make sure you keep the lid shut. Your little escape artist is going to leap out of that transport unit the second you forget to shut the lid.

Hamster Igloo

Out of all the hamster houses I've given my hamsters, a major favorite is the hamster igloo. Not only do my hamsters appreciate it, but I do as well. Many hamster homes are not easy to clean or they are too tall and the hamster knocks them over. The hamster igloo is instead very sturdy due to its shape. It is also really easy to clean since it is plastic. Hamsters also enjoy this igloo because they can jump on it and stand on it without it falling over on them. In general, I've found most pets enjoy items that do not fall over on them.

Some hamsters will chew on the igloo and some hamsters will not. I don't really like my hamsters chewing on plastic too much. However, it has never harmed either of them yet. Once the hamster has really gnawed through an igloo, it is so low-priced you won't mind buying a new one to replace it. Trust me, your hamster will love a new hamster igloo home.

Apple Chew Toys

I've learned something recently about my newest hamster, Mimi. She is a picky chewer. She is not a fan of most chew toys. She would rather just chew on the wires of her cage, which drives me nuts. However, on thing Mimi loves is apple chew toys. For some reason, she will chew and gnaw all night long on an apple chew toy. If you have a picky hamster or perhaps would just like to give your hamster an interesting new chew toy as a Christmas gift, an apple chew toy is the gift you should choose.

Hamster Ball

Although I think this is a given, I thought I would include a hamster ball to this list. My dwarf hamster never liked the hamster ball, but both of my syrian hamsters simply loved hamster balls. If you have never bought a hamster ball for your hamster, you really must! It is probably one of the best things about having a hamster for a pet.

Hamsters love running all over the place. The hamster ball gives them the freedom to go wherever they would like to go, yet they cannot get into too much trouble since they are in the ball. I also enjoy the hamster car and believe hamsters look hysterically funny in them; however, your hamster may not love it as much as you. It limits where they can "drive" around and it is more restricting than the ball. It is a nice toy though if you are looking for something new to give your hamsters. Hamsters enjoy it, just not as much as the hamster ball.

I hope you've found this list helpful. You will have a lot of fun shopping for your furry friend. Your hamster will always appreciate being included on the Christmas shopping list. All pets love getting Christmas gifts, including your cute little hamster.

Hahaha... honestly I doubt my pets ever appreciate their gifts. They think the food fairy or the gift fairy visits them. Thanks for dropping by!

Nice tips. It's very good showing love to your pets. One more thing, do you think these so called pets will appreciate our gifts?

    Cute hub!

I don't have a hamster, but my dog get Christmas gifts. Our pets are part of the family, so they should not be excluded from nice treats in Christmas wrapping.:)

Aww, that sounds so cute. I don't let my hamster unwrap her gifts. She would just eat the paper. Hehe. Thanks for reading and posting a comment!
