Dog Fashion Show, A different experience both for Humans and Dogs
My Friend's Dog Ginger with her handler
ThePageant for Glamorous and Goergeous Dogs
Last December 5, I proceeded to Sta. Lucia Mall, Marikina for two reasons; to treat my female dog PM or Pissie Marie because she just turned 1 year old last December; and 2nd to support my friends whose dogs are participants of the pageant.
I have no intention to join my PM in the contest because I have no Idea then how the contest will go, and I am a nervous freak (LOL)..... but then PM wore her birthday Blouse that looked like a shirt to her (LOL my dog is a bit boyish.).. and I will see If soon I will let my dogs join this kind of contest for fun...
PM, part of the audience during the program
If it is your first time to witness a Dog Fahion show, you'll definitely get overwhelmed with dogs wearing splendid costumes. And although it was a contest for dogs, some humans or owners of the dogs were wearing attractive costumes too which complimented the outfit of their dogs.
The contest is like searching for the Most Glamorous and Gorgeous Dogs, so definitely dogs will be in costumes, and it's the choice of the owners to wear costumes similar to their candidates. My Friends Julie and Kristine left the limelight to their dogs. Kirstine's Dog is a Shihtzu that she called Hanna and Julie's two candidates were Gingerbelle and Gio, two of her more than a dozen Chihuahua dogs.
Prizes and Experiences
The one to win the 1st place will recieve 10,000 cash with Gift Items, 2nd place will receive 3,000 cash with gift Items, and 3rd place will get 2,000 with gift items too. All other candidates that did not make it will also receive gift items for their doggies.
People who went to watch the contest with their dogs had a chance to recieve gift Items too, I was fortunate, my name was called during the raffle and recieved 2kg. dog food from Alpo.
My first experience watching a Dog fashion show contest is good, and I admire owners who took time and effort to bring their dogs in this Pets Day Out Activities...
What I observed
I am just wondering if the point system in the contest included the human with costume matching thier dogs? will dogs with the same costume as his human got the higher score? was it part of the rule? i
I love dogs and I love activites like these, I guess this is happier than the "real dog show" that we know and everybody had fun..
More activities like this will surely promote Responsible Pet Ownership and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, but we as owners must always remember "we should not compromise the comfort of our dogs". at the end of the day, we are back to reality that our dogs really did not understand what happened... Maybe for them it's just a play thing..
