Why Every Responsible Cat Owner Should Own a GPS Cat Collar

Many years ago there was no such thing as a GPS cat collar or for that matter any kind of tracking system to prevent lost cats, we just simply had to make do.

Fortunately technology has advanced and we now have the GPS cat collar to help us track and locate our beloved cats. Every cat should be well looked after, this was always my motto. Looking for lost pets is not something I would wish on anybody. So what exactly does a cat tracking system do?

A lightweight waterproof GPS cat collar takes the worry out of wondering where your cat is. It can also provide loads of interesting cat facts and data as to what your cat does on a daily basis.

What the best Cat GPS Tracker Can Do for You

A cat collar tracking system is a small light weight device that attaches to a cat collar. The position and location of the receiver worn by the cat is then picked up by orbiting satellites that pinpoint the location and movement of your pet. This information can then be monitored using an interconnecting device such as an iPhone, tablet, or notebook/PC. The Tagg GPS tracker is ideal for this.

The best GPS cat collars (I consider the Tagg as number one) enable you to create a zone or area that is within your normal cat’s territory. Some cats have huge territories that will surprise most owners. If a cat ventures out of this zone you can automatically receive an email or text message to your smartphone or tablet informing you that your pet cat has strayed. This tracking system means you can pinpoint the location of a GPS fitted collar any time of day or night.

The best GPS cat collar will also be able to give you an understanding of what cats do every day. We often have an image that cats are a lazy bunch sleeping most of the times and perhaps showing some affection when it pleases them, but a tracker helps you understand what he actually does on a day-to-day basis. Is your cat a true hunter? Does he prefer to lounge in the garden? Perhaps he has a favorite sleeping spot? Maybe he slinks off to a neighbor’s house for a few extra treats? Whatever activity your beloved pet is doing a tracking system allows you to analyze your cat’s behavior.

A recent newspaper report suggested that cats are a real menace to all wildlife as they kill many native songbirds and mammals, but is this really true or has science gone mad? Is blaming the popular and well loved cat a case of creating a dubious scapegoat? Well with the best GPS cat collar you can rest assured of how much time he spends hunting as opposed to sleeping or roaming and you’ll have the data to back it up!

Cats may kill up to 3.7 billion birds and 20.7 billion mammals in the United States alone each year, a new study has found

How a Cat GPS Tracker Works

GPS stands for Global Positioning System. The system compromises of 24 satellites in orbit around the earth. The tracking system is spotted and picked up by the orbiting 24 satellites and the information is then relayed to a receiving device such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer. here, we don't use cat collar, most of our neighbors don't put collars on our cats either. When they are lost, find another cat. Most cats are hit and run by incoming cars

That's an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Device) - it's about the size of a grain of rice. The beauty of an attachable GPS device is that you can easily do it yourself without having to go to a Vet - which can of course cost money.

I love this! I will share it too! I have lost many a cat, but due to the fact that we live on the west side of a forested mountain with many ravines and valleys it is hard to tell wehre a cat goes during the day or even if another animal has had it for a snack.
