How to Show Your Dog That You Love Her

Updated on December 9, 2014

A dog is a man’s best friend. If you firmly believe in that, as most dog lovers do, then it is important that you make your dog feel how special she is in your life. After all it is not always that we have a friend that is super loyal and dedicated to us.

Here are some tips on how to show your dog that she means the world to you:

1. Always keep your dog clean.

A well-groomed dog shows what type of an owner you may be. Start with properly bathing your pet. How often? Some say you should only wash your dog once she gets too dirty. That’s because too frequent washing will remove the natural oils that are protecting the coat. Also, you should choose natural-based shampoos which do not contain harmful chemicals that can cause allergy.

2. Give her the right food.

Avoid feeding her table scraps. Only give her dog food either the wet variety or kibbles. And make sure you stick to the feeding guideline to avoid weight problems. You can divide the daily food allowance into several meals instead of putting too much food on a bowl for just a single feeding. If you’re going to change from one food type to another, it is advisable that you introduce the new food gradually for seven days.

3. Always keep your dog safe.

Did you know that there are about 2 million pets getting dognapped every single day? That is a scary number. To help keep your dog from becoming another statistic, you should do some security measures. Never leave your dog alone in the streets. Make sure you have a fence in your yard to prevent your pet from wondering beyond your property. And you should also be actively on the lookout for any strangers roaming your neighborhood. They might be dog thieves looking for another victim.

4. Spend time playing with your pet.

All dogs love to play. As her master, it is your responsibility to spend time bonding with your dog. Schedule at least 30 minutes each day to play with her. Every morning, you can take your dog out for a walk. It will also be a great form of exercise for you.

5. Help her stay healthy.

Bring your dog to the veterinarian on a regular schedule. This is to ensure she’s always in good health. It also helps if you give her some supplements. And of course, just like us humans, your dog needs enough exercise.

Have fun with your best friend!

That’s about it. And one last thing, in terms of home security, not just for your family but also for your dog, it can be a good idea to have a high quality security system installed at your place. Take a look at what Omega Security Solutions can offer for your home.
