Happy Birthday Little Bear

Hard to believe

Well It is hard to believe that my first dog has turned one year old already. I have always liked cats, but after my last one died I just couldn't make myself get another kitten, I missed her so much it saddened me to think she could be replaced. As I have told the story before I will just remind you I reluctantly bought this 3 mos. old Mini French Poodle and named him Little Bear. He is chocolate brown and the delight of my life now. I just don't know what I would do without him. God works in wonderous ways and I have found if I just follow what my heart tells me I am usually not disappointed.

Keeps my spot warm for me

As Luck would have it

Our journey has had it ups and downs, poddy training, obedience, walks, but finding foods he likes is the problem I have now. Not sure if feeding him my cooking has spoiled him or what. I have been always buying Holistic foods and most of the ingredients are the same things I eat so I began making his food. I bought a jar of vitamins to add to the food and he was doing great until lately....hummm?

I have an agility course set up to challenge him, he has a play date every week with a friends dog, and this Easter when the family was here he played outdoors with the boys for 5 days and he Loved it.

Little finds Fart Machine

A Fart Machine ???

My daughter left 2 of the boys behind to stay with me for 3 extra days (they were on school break) and children and dogs make for great entertainment, so I just have to share this video I made. Might add it is my first video with my digital camera, but it is pretty good.

I Hope you enjoy this one minute 39 second video...:O) Hugs G-Ma

A few Photo's as he grows

Also some photo's from his first year. I highly recommend a dog for elderly people. They are company, make you smile, are so happy to see you, someone to talk to as well as keep you a bit more active.

If possible do get yourself a dog, a small one may be the best answer though.

God Bless...:O) HUgs G-Ma

Little Bear is a real part of your family and he makes it known! I love his little birthday outfit. He really didn't like that machine did he? Cute hub and enjoyed it much.

Hilarious, he's a good looking dog. Dogs have play dates? I thought kids having then was odd enough. I know what you mean about pets dieing, it's always terrible and that's why I think if I had it to do over I'd have gotten a parrot :-P Peace and Love!! Tom

justom ...surprise surprise you are here...Thanks for commenting, I know how you feel about this place...:O)

Yes I think he is a good looking dog also, and yes we have play days...LOL...living in the country where dogs don't get to socialize too often it helps them behave when in public...

I know it seems silly but he keeps me going and I am also Much more active since he came into my life. (Hard to find a man these days at my age) :O)) :O) Hugs Merle Ann

It's not silly at all, I love animals, all of them. You wanna see silly, you should catch me talking to the birds every morning but I don't care I love just hearing and watching them. (I feed them too). I think most of the time I'd rather hang out with them than some of the so called humans I encounter. :-P

justom...Oh really? I talk to myself too and just about every living creature there is around me...I have identified over 35 different birds in my yard, I have had rabbits, turkeys, quail, chickens, cats, rats, a canary, a parakeet, and on and on but never a dog...and they are so much fun and so loyal...Love :O) Hugs Merle Ann

G-Ma Johnson Hi. Happy first birthday "Little Bear".

Goodness me you are such a handsome little man, You are so fortunate to have a mum that loves you to bits.

G-Ma you are so right, they listen to what you say, give you unconditional love and always, always are so happy to see you and warm the bed up for you. Play dates are a wonderful idea, our Oliver meets his friends every day and he loves it.

Thanks for sharing what Little Bear means to you. Voted up and beautiful. :):)

I do have a dog and her name is Bella. She just turned 6 mo's. and is still going through a "learning curve" as I know you can relate. I had a cat, like you, but it was such a loss when she passed that, I too, just haven't been ready to get another yet. Your little Bear reminds me so much of a rescued dog I recently lost. Her name was Hope. I had her for eight wonderful years and they were some of the best years of my life. I also have a talking bird that was rescued from an abusive situation. He now lives the life of Riley. I shared Bear's video with my sister and we got such a kick out of Bear. Isn't Bear cute when those little paws daintly try to touch the "fart machine". Adorable.
