Jaipur, the Emerald city of India

Jaipur is the Pink City of India. It is also known as Emerald city. Jaipur is in the golden triangle of Indian tourist map. It is famous for its Gems and Jewelry business. Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan. Jaipur is now growing as a center of Information technology, IT.

Jaipur is a historical city representing the Rajput-Mogul culture. Kachhawa dynasty ruled Jaipur (formerly Khoh and Amber) for more than a thousand years. Sawai Jai Singh of this dynasty founded the city and named it Jaipur. He and his successors built large numbers of forts, palaces, temples and other monuments and developed huge infrastructure.

Millions of tourists visit Jaipur every year. Jaipur zoo is situated inside Ramniwas Bagh (garden), M.I. Road. Jaipur zoo preserves hundreds of varieties of birds and animals, especially Rajasthani and Indian.

Jaipur zoo has two separate sections situated on both sides of Ramniwas Bagh. Wild animals are kept in a side with crocodiles and alligators. Reptiles, snakes, and birds are kept in another side of the Jaipur zoo. There are many varieties of birds those are exclusively found in this zoo only. Here are some beautiful photos of birds in Jaipur zoo.

Love birds in Jaipur zoo

Love birds are most charming among all varieties of birds. These are very beautiful. Colorful bodies of these birds have a magnificent look. These birds live together peacefully and engaging themselves in love.

You can find love birds intermingling their beaks all the times. This is the most charming action of these birds.

Swan and Falcon

Swan is a white colored beautiful bird living in the water ponds and small rivers. Swan is considered as an auspicious bird in India. It is the vehicle of Hindu god Brahma and Saraswati, goddess of knowledge and wisdom. Swan can separate water from milk according to Hindu mythologies. It is also believed that Swan in Mansarovar lake eats pearls only.

. Some varieties of swan and falcons are kept in Jaipur zoo. You can view pictures of those birds living in land and water.

Peacock and other birds in Jaipur

The blue-necked Indian peacock is the most beautiful bird in the world. Best quality blue sapphires are compared with the neck of a peacock. Peacock is the National bird of India. Its multicolored appearance matches with multicolored gemstones of Jaipur. Peacock is a theme for Jaipur Jewelry designers and Kundan Meena Jadau manufactures.

Peacocks love cloud and rain. Male peacock starts dancing in the rainy days opening its beautiful multicolored wings to attract females of the species. When peacock dances, it creates a wonderful scene.

Rajasthan is a place for peacocks and the bird was found here abundantly. However, the number of this birds has been reducing due to illegal hunting. It is declared as conserved species by the government. Jaipur zoo is famous for its peacock and other birds such as stork, love birds, pelican, ibis, swan, parrot etc. I have also added some videos of Jaipur birds in this hub.

White peacock in Jaipur zoo

We have seen beautiful pictures of peacocks kept in Jaipur zoo. Multicolored peacocks are abundantly found in Rajasthan. However, white peacocks are rare. Jaipur zoo has been preserving white peacocks for many years.

Jaipur zoo has a system for developing the breed. Preserving these white colored birds is a difficult job and needs a lot of dedication and expertise. However, Jaipur zoo authorities are doing it successfully and the number of white peacocks is growing continually.

the comment you wrote under the photo's with the parakeets are isn't right. these are no lovebirds these are just some regular parakeets. a lovebird is a small parrot. not just a parakeet.

This hub is very special to me. I love birds. I was bought up in the Australian bush surrounded by birds. I love to watch them living their family life. In the evenings they all call to their families and each other in such a way as I imagine them saying things like "Come home you little ones it's time for bed" or telling dad to drop in at the supermarket on the way home and get some more worms, and don't forget a grub for dessert! Their conversations are so animated and diverse. Thank you for warming my heart first thing in the morning!
