There are hundreds of dog breeds from all over the world. But which ones are ranked the best?! I'll tell you what they are (my opinion, of course.) I almost guarantee you if you're looking for the best dog to call your own, you will find the one here.

This little pup originated in England. They are lovable lap dogs, but very curious and energetic! Good pups for apartment homes. They love warm weather! If you want a cuddle buddy, this one is for you.

2. Siberian Husky.

These dogs were developed about half a million years ago in Siberia. They are very loyal companions. Today, these huskies are wonderful sled dogs, but make amazing family watch dogs as well. They are very lovable. And, they love playing with kids!

      One of the doctors I work with just got a baby blue great Dane - he is so adorable and so soft, I fell in love! Nice pictures too.

      That is with any dog. Each breed requires different amounts of attention, training and care. And the link shows the flaws of any dog. As the owner, you must take full responsibility with whatever dog you choose. But I completely understand where you are coming from.

      I have to take issue with you on Huskies - as a rule they make terrible watch dogs, seldom bark and love strangers - they are wonderful family pets but require diligent training as they were bred for centuries to run and run away they do. The SHCA will fill you in on their short comings. http://www.shca.org/shcahp2b.htm Don't get me wrong, they can be wonderful pets but must be for the right owner but not good watch dogs - I know I've bred them for 25 years..

      Aw-w-w-w! You showed a silver blue Dane! My wife (before she was my wife) used to raise silver blues. I agree with her (and you) that Great Danes are an awesome breed.
