      It was a beautiful day, except the wind was blowing a bit too hard for some of the sailors. Thanks for your comment! I notice that you comment on digital cameras. FYI, I took the above pictures with a Digital Rebel which I've used for a couple of years. I'm very happy with the camera and have only two minor complaints: 1. Occasionally the mode dial on the top turns accidentally when I pull the camera out of the bag (I solved this problem with a bit of electrical tape over the dial.) and 2. The camera delays two or three seconds before it's ready after I turn it on. The new models fire up instantly. I've taken thousands of pictures with this camera and like it very much. I wish I could afford to buy a faster lens.

      We just saw a group of 3 pelicans, and maybe a dozen cormorants, eating fish in Lake Merritt yesterday! Great pics!
