What Kind of Pet Should I Get?

Thinking of getting a pet? Hold on, there- it's not as simple as picking out a stuffed animal.
Thinking of getting a pet? Hold on, there- it's not as simple as picking out a stuffed animal.

Important Considerations

When choosing a pet, it is important to consider the lifestyle you have, as well as the lifestyle of those you live with, your work hours, your travel schedule, your budget, your personal health (especially whether or not you have allergies), and even the rules associated with the flat, home, apartment, or condo in which you live (if you are renting).

Once you have decided what general species you ought to get, consider the various places where you might procure your future pet.  Though the world is swimming with breeders and high end pet shops, you might consider visiting your local animal shelter first.  There are a lot of pets out there that need a home!

Ya know...that was really amazing - I just found out I was a dog person. Who knew? I kinda sorta knew I wasn't a reptile person.

Cute idea and I love (on a serious note) that your hub is fun but it points out why certain people should not have certain pets~!

What a curious thing! Yeah, a lot of people go with dogs all their lives because they're such a classic pet, but... you never know!

I've always been and still consider myself a dog person. My girlfriend just got me a cat and interestingly your quiz decided I was a cat person, too! Maybe everyone else knows me better than I know myself...

The quiz showed me to be a cat person and I most definitely am! I've had cats for the past 20 plus years and love the antics that entertain. My cat now has taken to walking from my toes to my head at night before bedding down above my pillow. I'm used to it so it doesn't even wake me up anymore.

Hehee! You must have some inner secret snark! I'm definitely a cat person because I love the way that'll look one right in the face and seem to say "Oh, please, pathetic Human. Just shut up and feed me."

Hmm, It says I'm a dog person. I do have a dog, but I secretly like cats better.
