Who make better pets

Updated on January 16, 2012

Who loves cats? Who loves dogs? Well, who loves both? I can say I love both very much. I have never really had pets because my parents never wanted any animals in the house but I am determined to get one of each when I have a place of my own with a backyard.
There are many people who say cats make better pets or that dogs make better pets. I say it depends on each individual person. In so many ways they each have their pros and cons when it comes to being better pets.
Cats are more to themselves, they tend to keep clean for the most part, you can teach them how to use kitty litter. They don't require a lot of attention as dogs do. Sometimes cats can be very protective and that I know by experience from a good friend of mine. They also like to play when they feel like it. I think that cats have an attitude at times. I don't know if you have noticed that especially if you are a cat lover, if they want attention they will go to you, but if they want to be left alone they will just go somewhere and just mind their own business.
Dogs, they really like to play and are very loyal, they make a person really feel special. They require you to take them outside but you know that is no problem because it gives one an excuse to go outside take a nice long stroll around the neighborhood. Dogs are playful animals and like cats can be protective and make good guard dogs, at least certain species.
Dogs and cats are great animals to have, and they are actually able to live in the same house. There are those who say that it is hard for them to be in the same house but I don't think that it is. What do you think about cat and dogs? Which do you like the best? Are there other things that you can say about a cat or a dog? Feel free to write what you feel.

Personally, as an avid animal lover and a pet store employee, I like dogs better. I have had too many negative encounters with that so-called cat "attitude" to want one in my house : P . Dogs are much more interactive and loving, and in my opinion make better companions, though I can see why people like cats as well
