World's Most Beautiful Animal - Most Beautiful Animals in the World

Updated on April 3, 2012

World’s Most Beautiful Animal

The world’s most beautiful animal is human. Yes, man is the most beautiful animal on earth or perhaps that is what humans would want to hear. When I asked the question, what is the world’s most beautiful animal, majority of respondents pointed to humans as being the most beautiful animals in the world? A few answers even alleged that some kids and ladies are so cute and beautiful that one would think they are creations from outer space. Also, a good number of respondents felt that each an every animal is beautiful in its own way, and I would like to believe this is the right answer to that question.

Man Does Not Find His Closest Relative as Beautiful

Man’s closest living relatives are Chimpanzees - man and chimpanzee both being members of a tribe called Hominini tribe. Whilst many species of animals were suggested as being the most beautiful animals in the world, humans who were the respondents deliberately refused to make even a single mention that chimpanzee is the most beautiful animal in the world. How comes man does not find his closest relative being beautiful and still goes ahead to declare himself as the most beautiful animal in the world? In his subconscious mind, does man feel challenged by his closest relatives? In order not to have man baking his own cake, eating it and at the same time having the same cake, the title of the word’s most beautiful animal is going to be removed from humans and instead will be given to man’s closest living relatives, the chimpanzees. This therefore means that the world’s most beautiful animal is chimpanzee, like it or not.

Defining ‘Beautiful Animal’

We define ‘beautiful’ in an animal as a quality present in that animal which gives intense pleasure and deep satisfaction to the mind of the one looking at it. In addition, an ‘acceptable’ level of intelligence relative to intelligence of other animals should be taken into consideration.

Online respondents on Hubpages’ Questions and Answers suggested the following animals as the most beautiful animals in the world:

1) Human

2) The Cats – Cheetah, Leopards, Kitten, etc

3) Parrot

4) Peacock

5) Eagle

6) Horse

7) Wolf

8) Dolphin

9) Bear/Panda

10) Giraffe

11) Other animals included: Dolphin, Bear/Panda, Whale, Penguin, Butterfly, Chicken, Bees, Haggis, Bat, Pig, Swan, Shark, etc.

1. Chimpanzee

A Chimpanzee is the most beautiful animal, having taken that title from humans because it’s not possible to allow humans bake their own cakes, eat the cakes and at the same time have the same cakes. A chimpanzee is the closest living relative of man - both being members of a tribe called Hominini. There are two species of chimpanzees – the Common Chimpanzee (native habitat is West and Central Africa) and the Bonobo Chimpanzee (native habitat is Democratic Republic of Congo). A very long time ago, something like six million years ago, human and chimpanzees were brothers and sisters. From fossil sites in Kenya, chimpanzees and humans have been present in East African Rift Valley as far back as Middle Pleistocene. A chimpanzee can walk upright on two legs when carrying objects with their hands and arms just like humans. Like humans, chimpanzees have no tail. A chimpanzee will weigh about 70 kilograms and a life span of about sixty years.

Other than humans, chimpanzees are the most intelligent animals in the world. Chimpanzees can make tools as well as use them. The hunting skills of chimpanzees are well developed and can deceive as well as manipulate. Chimpanzees, when trained, will understand some aspect of human language, concept of numbers and numerical sequence. Chimpanzees are also capable of planning what they will do tomorrow or any other day in the future.

2a. The Cheetah

The cheetahs, and other members of the cat family, are beautiful animals that man likes. The cheetah is tan with round black spots. On the underside there are no spots but has white fur. A cheetah’s tail usually has spots which merge to form some rings at its end. The cheetah is the fastest animal on land with speeds reaching 120 kilometres per hour. These really are high speeds that can challenge your old car. A cheetah, like other cats, is fairly intelligence relative to other animals. Cats do no make or use tools which make them rank far behind chimpanzees or parrots in terms of intelligence. A cheetah can not climb a tree. The colorful spots on a cheetah’s body make them look very beautiful. Cheetahs are beautiful and it’s no wonder one of the cat family, the domesticated housecat, is the most popular pet in the world.

2b. The Leopard

The leopard is another cat that is equally beautiful just as the cheetah. Unlike the cheetah, a leopard has rose-like spots/markings on its fur.  A leopard can run at speeds of 60 kilometers per hour. One major difference between a leopard and a cheetah is that a leopard has the ability to climb trees even when carrying heavy carcass. All cats are very proud animals that are unlikely to waste their energies doing unproductive tasks.

3. The Parrot

The parrot may not be colorful as some other birds, but this bird is very intelligent. The African Grey Parrot is the world’s most intelligent bird. Other intelligent birds include crows, ravens, jays and magpies. The parrot will not only make and use tools but will mimic human speech. The African Grey Parrot will also associate words with their meaning as well as form short sentences. Millions of people world wide would like to have African Grey Parrot as a pet but the parrot has a high price of $3000 and needs a permit since it’s an endangered species.

Whilst the world’s most beautiful animals may be the chimpanzees, the cats, and the parrots in that order, the correct answer to the question, ‘which is the world’s most beautiful animal’, is: each an every animal in the world is very beautiful in its own way. It all depends on the reference point of the animal being asked the question. If you ask the 'Naked Mole Rat' that question of the most beautiful animal in the world, she will tell you that the 'Naked Mole Rat' is the most beautiful animal the world has ever produced.

All are beautiful in different ways! Very impressive, thanks! You might say magnificent, amazing, gorgeous, astonishing, using different expressions to put words on the kind of beauty you see and feel. You may also say that beauty is a relative concept. And that the beauty is in the beholder's eye.... even when it comes to this..
