All About Binky

Updated on June 17, 2014

Meet Binky!

This Lens is all about our baby, Binky. She is a Boston Terrier. Born August 1, 2002. We purchased her from a pet store in Nyack, NY during our christmas shopping. We went into the pet store just to look at the dogs. We never intended to get a dog. When we saw her, she melted our hearts. We asked to pet her and when the brought out of the back she jumped out of the guys arms, ran across the room and jumped into my lap. She was on her 3rd mark down and looked so sad. So we bought her. When we got her home we realized she was super sick. We could not figure out what was wrong with her. So we called the store and they said they never gave her her shots. We ended up calling the attorney general of NY and they sent the animal police from the ASPCA and shut the place down. We researched about pet shops and learned about pet shops and puppy mills. They ended up having to pay all her medical costs and got fines etc. We now live in Los Angeles and she loves it here. Her best friend is Curtis, our boarder collie we rescued here in LA.

In the photo Curtis is on the left, George (RIP) is in the middle, and Binky(RIP) is on the right.

I have always had dogs growing up. I moved to NY in 1997 and had a very busy traveling job. So I had to talk my parents into taking my dog Coy at the time. So, I didn't have a dog for a long time. When I saw Binky I was in a new job with less travel and was able to committ to her and have had her in my life since then!

When we moved to LA we rescued George, another Boston Terrier. He just passed last year. We miss him a lot but are happy to have known him and give him some happy years.

How she got her name!

After we met her we left her at the shop with strict instructions not to sell her. We went walking around the mall and talked about it. We called my sister and I had a brainstorm to call her Binky. That was our nick name for my sister growing up. I asked my sister and she approved it. I think she was happy that the name would not be associated with her anymore!

Old Dog Vistibular Disease

Binky was recently diagnosed with this horrible affliction. It took a lot of time for her to get over it. Please read my lens about her progress through this by the same name. I hope your dog never gets it! It's scary but you can get through it.

Unfortunately, she was not one who made it through. She ended up passing away and I just couldn't look at this lens.

Favorite things to do with Binky!

She love to go for walks and just lay around with us on the couch watching tv and snuggling up!

What I love about Binky!

I love when she goes all noodley in my arms and makes her whiney noise!

5/11/11 RIP Binky

Our princess was taken from us today. Thank you all for your kinds words about her.

I will not be updating this lens any further. I don't want to delete either. It's just too sad.
