GPS tracking collar for dogs - Good - or junk?

Has anybody had a GPS tracking collar for their dog? How accurate is it? Does it work well in remote areas such as the AZ National Park next to the Mexican border?

The one place I wanted to have it - is not covered: The Coronado National Park is partially covered and therefore if on the edge of coverage - it is not going to be as accurate because there are less repeaters for triangulation.
