What do you say to someone who has just love a beloved pet?

What are some things one can say to someone to make them feel better or to give them consolidation after they have lost a beloved pet?

I posted about my hub on dogs going to heaven in your other question, but I will often use those examples to help ease people's grief.  I also always remind them what a blessing they were to their furred family member (if it's furred. smile) and what a blessing that family member pet was to them.

People just need time to heal from the grief.  If they had to put their pet to sleep, they need friends to tell them it was the right decision and the best, most loving decision for their pet.  Some people do best if they get a new pet right away.  Others need to wait some time before getting a new pet.

It's very hard to lose our pet family members, and the grief can be overwhelming.  Most larger metro areas actually have grief support groups for people struggling over the loss of a pet.  If your friend is really suffering and can't seem to get past the grief, suggest they contact one of these groups.  I bet a local vet would know about how to contact such a group.

i don't know what to say but, "please accept my condolence. Your pet is happy with GOD now. I am sure your pet doesn't want to see you sad this way" Do you think this will work?

Yes it is true your pet knows when you are sad and they don't want to see you sad, then they get sad.

This is such an important question and there's an incredibly beautiful, consoling answer to it. It's called, "The Rainbow Bridge", an anonymous tribute to the love they shared. I actually have it on my cat website because I want to help animal lovers in this situation. Here's a direct link to it.

I'm new here and don't know if telling you where to find the prose is against the Hub rules. But you asked the question and this is the best answer possible!
