   Is it the cat mating season now?
   
   My female cat has been attracting 2-3 male cats everyday, fighting over her day and night. BTW, she has been spayed. Is it cat mating season?

   Male cats are always ready to mate. Your cat can be spayed and still lift some tail when a male is around. Female cats go through periods about once a month but if your cat is indoors and not around a female, she could go months without going into heat.

      thanks for the info. You mean she still has her periods even though she is spayed? I don't see any blood at her anus...

      No, she will not go into heat after being spayed. But she still could be humped by the other cats.

   Domestic cats don't really have a mating season, some are receptive all year round, others may only be active from February to September. The key to breeding behavior is light cycles and the duration in which they last. Shorter days and longer nights trigger the end of most animals' reproductive behavior, whereas longer days and shorter nights stimulate it.
   
   Female cats are induced ovulators, meaning that they will not produce eggs unless mating has occurred. A female cat goes through an estrus (also called a "heat") cycle either once or twice a month within the months of reproductive activity - waiting, yowling, and pining for a chance to mate with a male, which will stimulate her eggs to release and will most assuredly end in impregnation. If a female cat finishes her estrus cycle and mating has not occurred, the cycle will start up again in a few weeks. Males are almost always ready to mate.
   
   Female cats do not have "periods" or menstruation like humans do, therefore you should never see blood coming from any orifice...

      Wow! a detailed info. But since my has has been spayed, she won't have her ovulate cycle right? So why keep attacting the males?

      A spayed cat can no longer produce eggs and therefore cannot ovulate. If the spay was recent, she may still display some residual hormonal behaviors, but no amount of mating will result in impregnation.
