I have no rooster so they can't hatch but I have one hen that just wants to hatch no matter what but I wondered if stealing her eggs could upset her to the point to stop laying? Should I not get the eggs from under her but try to tempt her away with treats? Or does it really make no difference?

Thanks DrMark, the last two days she has laid egg in with a cold one & I am such a novice at all this I didn't know if it would ruin eggs to stay under her or what, I just reached under her & took them this morning, she pecked me but I had s
Are you sure the warm egg was hers? My broody hens will share the nest box, and then get back on as soon as the other hen is through laying. I remove the eggs every day, here in the tropics they go bad fast-one of my hens always pecks me, another nev
I think the warm one is hers because are pinkish. It is really cold here so I guess I don't need to worry yet. I only have the 3 so maybe I can work it out, lol I hope, thank you for the info. She lets me pet her so maybe I can feed her while I steal

Well I would never eat one of my pets and that is what these three are and she is the only one that lets me pet her so maybe we can make a trade off, thank you! They are my 3 girls and I do talk to them every day of course, lots.
Gosh, now if I can just teach mine to climb a tree! J/K That sounds wonderful. This morning I only got one egg & it didn't belong to the setter! Guess she won't lay as long as she even thinks she has an egg. That one bad apple spoils the whole bu
