How often should cats go to the vet on a regular basis?

I rarely took my cat Lily except for rabies and one illness and she lived almost 20 years; but my new cats do not take to my natural remedies as well as Lily did for worms and fleas so I just wonder how often I need to have them checked? They are about 6 months old and I have had them wormed, fleas killed and fixed. When so they go back? Thanks!

Mine are indoor/outdoor so maybe won't have as many problems like my cat Lily but I can see they aren't eating my garlic treats so will mean more visits for sure. Thanks!

Thanks Bob; I guess it is. Lily was always so healthy up until the end except for one incident but I can see I will need to have these I have looked at more often. Once a year sounds good. Was hoping no more often than that.

Thanks Sparklea; I do remember liking the vet I took Lily to but as I say it was just for essentials & she had raw garlic very often which the vet admitted she had no worms or fleas nor my cats before her but for some reason these 2 hate garlic!
