    cats tend to get kidney failure. there is no  way to know about it early except blood tests. a low protein diet slows the disease, so the blood test is worthwhile.

    Gingivitis can be problematic, depending on a cat's diet. It's a good idea to schedule annual exams, especially as cats get older, to check their gums for signs of redness and disease and schedule cleanings as many be necessary (or tooth extractions). Feline diabetes is also somewhat common but can be managed with insulin if caught soon enough. If your cat seems ravenously thirsty or hungry, yet seems to be losing and not gaining weight, diabetes can be the cause and should certainly be tested for asap.

    well my old cat is pretty healthy and spayed, would be better and healthy if spayed. She is 15 years old now

      That is another great tip! I haven´t spayed my cat yet, but I will have to do it soon. He is 3 months old.
